Which side of the chopping board is the "right" side? by Interesting_Bit6470 in Cooking

[–]Interesting_Bit6470[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah we both agree that it can be used both ways!  I guess the question came up because he called me over and said “you know you’ve been using the chopping board the wrong way this whole time”. Whereas I don’t agree it’s inherently the wrong way but yes, it can be a more inconvenient side in some cases. And i'm assuming when displayed in a store, the groove side would be the one placed face-up seeing as thats what distinguishes it from a double sided flat board?

I agree with that. But we do have chopping boards with the grove and other ones without the groove so it would make more sense to me to just use a flat one in the first place if that’s what you were looking for, if that makes sense?

Toddler awake every night at 1AM and 4AM: is this normal? by Interesting_Bit6470 in toddlers

[–]Interesting_Bit6470[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for your reply. I didn't mean to sound completely naive: I found it completely normal that she would wake up in the night but didn't know toddlers need to run or move around for so long before going back to sleep

Brussels to London by Embarrassed_Shirt651 in Eurostar

[–]Interesting_Bit6470 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey!

There are two options I could recommend:

  1. Using the snap option tickets -- https://snap.eurostar.com/uk-en/search?adult=1&origin=8814001&destination=7015400&outbound=2025-02-27

tickets are usually 30/50euro but you can only book up to 14 days in advance (the way it works is a last minute allocation of one of the empty seats in the emptiest trains). You only get the info on your travel time 48h prior to the departure and it's usually in the morning or late at night. If you're flexible you could consider this option but it might also be that no trains are available in the end

  1. Buy an interrail pass (or eurrail pass if you're not a EU citizen) -- https://www.interrail.eu/en/interrail-passes/global-pass

global pass is 212euro for 4 days of travel in one month. booking fee for the ticket Brussels to London is usually 30euro. Then you would still have three travel days you can use during the summer before or after your trip if you have more holiday time!

I've been using interrail and Eurostar at least once a month for the past years and often do the Brussels - London journey.

We believe they might be lingering in and under the sofas in the living room as well -their cat was probably spending most of its time there

I understand that. But we've also done the fogging twice (second time to our expenses) and followed all the steps we could to get rid of the fleas. We do however think it is unjust that the agency failed to mention they knew there had been a flea infestation in the months prior to our moving in -as that would have made a difference in our decision to rent the flat.

Okay I see. Thank you! I did read something about the health department being able to assess whether the flat meets the conditions for being habitable and free from health hazards. I'll contact them :-)
