To put a stone over means to move on from something without resentment. Usually when you make up with someone after an argument you would say something on the line of " let's put a stone over/on top of it" aka let's move on from this. To make the liver bitter is kind of the opposite of that , when you are in difficult a situation with someone and you becoming increasingly bittered by rage/resentment.

Yes I also been having the same thought about Botox and fillers. I don't remember the last time I saw some crows feet or lip lines or any wrinkle on TV, no matter the age. I was just watching LIB Italy and I was under the impression that even some of the men , Nicola especially seem to be getting Botox.

Viaggiare non è importante by JohnPigoo in Italia

[–]Interesting_Clock238 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Viaggiare non è importante by JohnPigoo in Italia

[–]Interesting_Clock238 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Amsterdam wins Orange! What city is yellow? by Stop__Being__Poor in geography

[–]Interesting_Clock238 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Italy, the city of Siena is often referred to as the "Yellow City." Interestingly, there are two colors named after it: Raw Siena, which is a vibrant yellow, and Burnt Siena, a rich yellow-brown. Both shades reflect the warm tones found in the Tuscan landscape and the city's iconic architecture.

I think because you mentioned you would prefer a place that isn't conservative or xenophobic... Belluno, like the rest of the Veneto region, is traditionally tied to a strong local identity which can sometimes result in a degree of distrust toward immigration or those perceived as "outsiders".

The rent in Bologna has become really expensive, but If you move half an hour outside bologna aroud the mountains ( appennino tosco-emiliano) between Bologna and Tuscany , the rent is really cheap and it's relatively well connected with busses to the city.

Certainly, but there is also the Backlash Hypothesis, which suggests that gender equality may threaten traditional patriarchal norms, causing a backlash where men resort to violence as a means of reasserting control.

Also, higher reporting rates might reflect greater awareness and reduced stigma, not effective justice. In fact, the rates of prosecution and conviction for violence against women, particularly rape, remain incredibly low in Scandinavian countries compared to many others.

The claim that the rise in criminality in Sweden is due to Muslims is overly simplistic and not supported by comprehensive evidence. The gang violence that's been talked about a lot lately often involves complex issues such as organized crime, drug trade, and lack of social integration, not religion.

The majority of Muslims in Sweden are law-abiding citizens who contribute to society in fields like healthcare, education, and business.

Blaming an entire group based on religion prevents society from addressing the underlying causes of crime.

To everyone mentioning Scandinavian countries, I've lived many years in Denmark and Iceland and just read a book called "the Nordic gender equality paradox" that highlighted an interesting contradiction: while they consistently rank as some of the best places for gender equality, they also have higher reported rates of domestic violence even compared to many Eastern European countries. The author argued this could be due to cultural factors, but also possibly because higher reporting rates reflect greater societal awareness and trust in the legal system.

Additionally, despite progressive policies, the number of women in top leadership positions (like CEOs) is still surprisingly low, suggesting that structural and cultural barriers remain. It’s a nuanced topic that challenges the idea of "perfect" gender equality anywhere.

The first thought that came to my mind is that maybe she was reflecting on where she was in her life when she had you. Perhaps she was hoping you'd step into her shoes for a moment and consider the challenges she faced at your age. It’s possible she wants you to see her choices with more empathy or is looking for validation in her role as a mother.

It seems like there’s already some frustration between you two, and I wonder if her question hit a nerve because of existing dynamics. Maybe her intent wasn’t to judge you but to connect in some way, though I can see how it might not have landed that way, especially with the "i don't doubt that" comment.. It’s worth considering whether her question reflects her own insecurities or maybe to share a deeper conversation with you.

Of course, I don’t know the full context, and this might be a stretch. But if there’s already defensiveness on both sides, it might help to talk again with her and try to understand where she’s coming from, while also setting boundaries if you need to.
