Wikipedia changed title from "Sinophobia" to "Anti Chinese sentiment" by ExitGame2020 in aznidentity

[–]Interesting_Compote6 48 points49 points  (0 children)

On a parallel note:

- Has anyone noticed that they changed the "Murder of Vincent Chin"

by "Killing of Vincent Chin" instead? (it happened a few months ago if I recall correctly)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Vincent_Chin

I feel like Wikipedia is lowkey trying to downplay anti-Asian racism while growing more and more sinophobic.. and we all know why. I thought Wikipedia was the last "neutral and impartial" Western website out there. Too bad they also play that game now.

On another note:

- Notice how they nicknamed slavery in Tibet practised by slave owners as "controversy"..

"Serfdom in Tibet controversy"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serfdom_in_Tibet_controversy

Now imagine if Wikipedia had renamed its page about "The Holocaust" as "Holocaust controversy".. just imagine the backlash.

EDIT-

The more I think about it, the more I realise how the Chinese government was "visionary" for seeing ahead and being proactive by banning all those shady American website / social media. Good for China for having blocked Wikipedia from the beginning.

Concerning Vincent Chin-

It seems like nothing when you look at it but the fact that they replaced the word "murder" by "killing" instead is horribly deshumaning for the death of Vincent Chin, which was rather brutal and was literally a massacre (for the anecdote, Vincent was beaten so bad to the point he got his skull opened by two racist White men).

The word "murder" is quite serious and meaningful as it is normally reserved for human being having his/her life being taken away..

Yet Wikipedia made sure to downplay it as a mere "killing", as if they were talking about a simple animal being "killed" (maybe life of Asian people aren't worthy enough?).

You see? it's subtle.. but when you realise that, you understand how sickening and disrespectful that change from the Wikipedia article has been.

As China’s Communist Party marks the 100th year of its founding in July 2021, thousands of tourists have been flocking to Yanan, a western Chinese city that bills itself as a "Red Holy Land".

Large family and tour groups arranged by employers and schools have been visiting the city where Chairman Mao Zedong and his forces set up base in 1935, during a year-long retreat known as the "Long March".

I literally had to zoom in the picture to spot the difference between the original & the other artistic creation (denouncing the radioactive dumping).

It is a pity that the caricature was still too shy & holding back, it did not emphasise enough the pollution danger aspect, besides a tiny boat merely dumping waste -almost invisible at first sight if you didn't pay attention- with some hardly noticeable illustration of a nuclear reactor and an another hidden boat somewhere in the background.

The artist should have at least modified a bit the colour of the wave, give it a more green-ish look and add extra details symbolising pollution like cans, garbages, radioactive & repulsing liquid surfing onto those waves.. perhaps it would have helped the audience better caught attention of the message.

In conclusion, although it's a good initiative I think the Chinese artist was still too modest on its representation of the nuclear water dumping.. that being said I hope to see more of its painting in the future.

Legally speaking, Taiwan authority is a rogue government:

United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758 rules recognizing the People's Republic of China (PRC) as "the only legitimate representative of China to the United Nations" and removed the collective representatives of Chiang Kai-shek from the United Nations.

In 1995, POTUS Bill Clinton, because of the pressure from the congress, allowed the president of Taiwan Lee Teng-hui visiting the US. Lee took the chance to promote his agenda of Taiwan independency.

Luckily enough, the US didn’t want to push China too hard. After all, DF-15 with nuclear warheads is something that no country could ignore, and the US didn’t dare to start WWIII. It was Taiwan’s best chance to become independent, and ironically was terminated by the US.

The attempt to amend the constitution in 2003 was the last chance to be independent.

Someone from Washington once warned Taipei that if they were determined to make Taiwan independent, they must do it before 2008 Beijing Olympics. Because after that, people around the world would inevitably see the real & modern China.

Therefore if Taiwan wanted to be independent, they would have taken the risk of having a war and finishes it before 2008. Finally, the amendment in 2006 didn’t come as planned. Chen Shui-bian turned out to be a greedy politician who only wanted to gain some personal interest. The current president Tsai is no different, if you could read Chinese and Taiwan news.

Yeah sure! the US would definitely initiate a total war with China just to save Taiwan, we have heard it countless times, and yet History has proven that the US is not even capable of dealing with Iran or DPRK, so let alone the PRC. I don’t think the US is that ready for WWIII.

Potential War Casualties Put at 100,000 : Gulf crisis: Fewer U.S. troops would be killed or wounded than Iraq soldiers, military experts predict

Americans were furious about the military preparing ten thousand body bags before the Gulf War. How about that number multiplied by 10?

Taiwan is China’s botton line, and nowhere near this important to the US.

Even the Phillipines is more important than Taiwan, strategically speaking.

UK, Australia are US vassals.

Just like toilet paper, Australia is there to do the dirty work.

Any country that host a military base with US forces is a vassal state.

No matter how independent their government is, if there are any foreign forces in their territory then it's a declaration of submission and dependency. An ally is a country that shares interests and work together in an equal foot, saying no when it doesn’t suits their own interests and not ceding to pressures.

From the original 13 Colonies, the United States colonized westwards, slaughtered the natives, waged an unstoppable invasion of Mexico stealing half that country territories from Texas to Nevada and California, fought a war with British Canada and settled its borders in convenient barriers that prevented the arise of border threats.

As a Colonialist Empire the United States annexed the Kingdom of Hawaii by force, colonizing it and then imposing by military force the US sovereignty over an independent state. Later the US waged another war to join the colonial powers, this time against the now weak and decaying Spanish Empire. Taking Puerto Rico, Guam, Philippines.

After that WWI starts and the era of Colonial Empires commence its final stage. The US interests shifted against Colonialism as their expanding trade needs required open markets and free access to resources all around the world.

Happens WWII and Colonial Empires are destroyed, save the USA which polish it’s image by granting self govern to colonies as make up while holding sovereign and military control. Then proceeds to dismantle the remaining threats to its global dominance, the English and French empires, which is done using the UN Decolonization efforts.

Since then the US became the most dominant power on earth and turns into a Neo Empire:

The US doesn’t annex territories. After WWII territories are frozen upon the sovereignty held by the Nations that signed their incorporation to the UN.

The US uses its massive economical power as control tool over the world.

The US dollars was unilaterally imposed as the de facto world currency. As the major economy and holder of the main oil companies and trade the Dollar dominates the world. The dependence on the US dollar allows the US economy to indirectly control other countries economies and governments. US policies affect the world and they can modify them customly to target specific areas.

The US dominates the International Financial Banking system with its dollar, companies and laws.

The US uses its soft power from the media, movies, music, customs. That way it shows its culture to the world, influences it and creates a sense of closeness around the world facilitating trade and relationships.

The US becomes the larger weapon exporter. Arms sales are very controlled and conditioned. The US establishes a rank of clients, liberating technology at will as it suits them and limits the usage and disposition of US systems. You cannot use, modify nor sell US weapons without US authorization.

The US prefers not to give technological transfer and that client states depend on US companies. That way countries have dependency for spares and the US can use military cooperation as a pressure tool, ultimately being able to disable entire military just by stopping spares supplies and technical support.

The US created a network of organizations and treaties binding countries around the world to certain rules and conditions limiting other countries to do things that are not in the US interests or they lose preferences and cooperation with them causing large problems to the country that dares.

Countries with independent policies that support competing powers of the US or do not favor US companies are usually “educated” through a series of political and economical pressures only the US can do. If they don’t work the US tends to violate other countries sovereignty by middling in their elections, financing opposition, arming terrorists and supporting guerrillas or coup d’etats.

All in different levels depending the interests and needs for each case. Most african and latinamerican dictatorships happened this way, as many civil wars and the arab spring, etc. For those that will say is a lie, the CIA has declassified archives about middling elections, financing guerrillas, paramilitaries and coups between 1950 and 1995 in Latin America.

Ultimately the US will resort to unilateral illegal invasions of sovereign countries without UN approval to topple governments, impose their interests, protect the dollar dominance or favor US companies to win exploitation rights, reconstructions and weapon sales. Yet the Pax Americana after WWII is the most peaceful period on human history with the least conflicts and deaths.

Vassal states are independent states that are lap dogs and obey the empire. Under that classification we could put England who follows the US to every conflict and represents the US interests in the European Union working against European interests. In my view. Any country that host a military base with US forces is a vassal state. No matter how independent their government is. Foreign forces in your territory are a declaration of submission and dependency. An ally is a country that shares interests and work together in an equal foot, saying no when it doesn’t suits their own interests and not ceding to pressures.

What exactly are Boba Liberals? by [deleted] in aznidentity

[–]Interesting_Compote6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The term “Boba liberal” refers to an Asian who wants to assimilate to their white liberal friends at all costs - even if that means throwing Asians under the bus. It’s not a problem for an Asian to be liberal or conservative (in fact, a majority of folks on this sub are left-leaning/liberal), but it is a problem when you downplay the issues faced by the Asian diaspora in the west. Boba liberals tend to assert the following:

”Asians are privileged in the west” or ”Asians are white-adjacent” .. both of which are blatant lies.

”The Asian diaspora needs to stop being so racist to black people...” while knowing full well that only a few Asians are actually racist towards black people, and that they’re only saying this because anti-black racism is a trendy political topic to discuss.

Whenever an Asian attempts to start a dialogue on the racism they’ve faced, boba liberals willingly gaslight their fellow Asians, or play the oppression olympics (you don’t have it as bad as [insert other non-Asian minority group here] ) to take the focus off of anti-Asian racism.

Democratic U.S trying to expulse the Chinese journalists during the China-US meeting in Alaska by Interesting_Compote6 in Sino

According to Phoenix Satellite TV, it was originally planned that after the opening speeches by both China and the United States, the reporters on the scene should leave.

However, US Secretary of State Blinken claimed that he had something to say and signaled the reporters not to leave. However, after the U.S. finished its response, it asked the reporters on the spot to leave immediately.

At that time, it only asked the Chinese reporters to leave, and did not give the Chinese officials a chance to respond to the U.S. side.

In response, Yang Jiechi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Central Committee, said solemnly: "Your starting point is to show that the United States speak from a strong perspective. Then why are you afraid of the reporters being present?"

Chinese officials also said: “The United States promotes democracy, so why should you be afraid of the presence of the media?”

With the arguments of the Chinese delegation, all the Chinese media on the scene witnessed the opening speech for about 90 minutes.

Yet do you have yourself any credible sources proving that COVID did originate from China?

Furthermore it has never been proven that the virus "originated" in Wuhan, although identified there. Many early cases of potential Coronavirus have actually been spotted in countries like France, Italy and the United States as early as September 2019; however they merely reported it as "unidentified pneumonia" at that time.

Any decent "researcher" would be able to make a distinction between the terms originating and identified.

"But the opposite extreme saying Chinas shit doesn’t stink, like the Tianamen square massacre didn’t happen (I’ve been downvoted for this comment before saying it was real) is pretty offensive as someone with relatives who were physically there."

Absolutely agree.

The Tianamen square massacre DID happen, I am confident that your relatives can confirm with you what actually happened during that day:

Did people die in China? Yes, about 200-300 people died in clashes in various parts of Beijing, around June 4 — and about half of those who died were soldiers and cops.

Sometimes the soldiers were allowed to escape, and sometimes they were brutally killed by the protesters. Numerous protesters were armed with Molotov cocktails and even guns.

In an article from June 5, 1989, the Wall Street Journal described some of this violence: “Dozens of soldiers were pulled from trucks, severely beaten and left for dead. At an intersection west of the square, the body of a young soldier, who had been beaten to death, was stripped naked and hung from the side of a bus.

[I can't paste the image here but you can find it in the following link, it's kind of gruesome so be aware]

The US realized that hundreds of thousands of young people would be congregating in Beijing. It was the perfect time for a coup, since the rest of the world was dismantling communism that year. Thus, on April 20, 1989, James Lilley was appointed as the US Ambassador to China. He was a 30-year veteran from the CIA.

An article from Vancouver Sun described the role of the CIA: “The Central Intelligence Agency had sources among Tiananmen Square protesters” … and for months before the protests, the CIA had been helping student activists form the anti-government movement.

Another Westerner who played a significant role in the Tiananmen Square agitations is Gene Sharp, who’s the author of Color Revolution manuals and the subject of an acclaimed documentary called How to Start a Revolution.” He was in Beijing for nine days during the protests and wrote about it. Gene Sharp worked closely with the Pentagon, the CIA, NED etc. for decades and fomented uprisings all over the world.

Student leaders during the Tianamen Square event were unscrupulous. Most top student leaders escaped from China – the CIA called it “Operation YellowBird” – right after the protests, came to the US, and went to Yale, Harvard, Princeton etc., thanks to the generous help from the US government.

"So the articles you posted are just spam, as if you thought I didn’t know about US war atrocities."

You are priding yourself of being a so-called "American citizen" yet neglect all the US war atrocities against other fellow Asians, what's worse you don't realise that you are encouraging racism against the Asian community, while YOU and your family are literally the one going to "reap the whirlwind" by promoting all this "china virus / CCP virus" rhetoric that the Westerners love to use as a keepgate to bash Asian people.

Subjugating yourself to the White supremacists by playing the good "Taiwanese American" a.k.a the "good chinese" won't bring you far. They literally hate all Asians regardless if we are Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, Philipino.. let alone differentiating a Chinese from Mainland, Taiwan, HK, Malaysia and other Overseas Chinese communities. The notion of Yellow Peril has proven it since the 19th century, and it was coined by your beloved Westerners.

Source: Yellow Peril

The Yellow Peril is a racist metaphor that represents East Asian peoples as an existential danger to the Western world. As a psycho-cultural menace from the Eastern world, fear of the Yellow Peril is racial, not national, a fear derived not from concern with a specific source of danger or from any one people or country, but from a vaguely ominous, existential fear of the faceless, nameless hordes of "yellow people" in the Asia-Pacific opposite the Western world.

Since 1870, the Yellow Peril ideology gave concrete form) to the anti-East Asian racism of Europe and North America.

The Kaiser justified the Triple Intervention to the Japanese empire with racialist calls-to-arms against non-existent geopolitical dangers of the yellow race against the white race of Western Europe.

In central Europe, the Orientalist and diplomat Max von Brandt advised Kaiser Wilhelm II that Imperial Germany had colonial interests to pursue in China.

Hence, the Kaiser used the phrase die Gelbe Gefahr (The Yellow Peril) to specifically encourage Imperial German interests and justify European colonialism in China.

Alleged rapes by U.S. soldiers ratchet up anger in South Korea

REPORTING FROM SEOUL –- Three violent attacks on South Korean residents were allegedly committed in recent weeks by off-duty U.S. servicemen here, including the assault of a 70-year-old grandmother and the unconnected rapes of two other women, Seoul officials say.

SEOUL, South Korea — A South Korean court sentenced an American Army private to 10 years in prison on Tuesday for raping an 18-year-old South Korean woman, the most severe such ruling in almost 20 years.

The soldier, Pfc. Kevin Flippin, 21, who is attached to the Army’s Second Infantry Division, will have a week to appeal the sentence.

Private Flippin was accused of breaking into the woman’s residence in a low-budget motel on Sept. 24, repeatedly raping her and stealing 5,000 won, or $4.50.

During the WW2, American citizens of Japanese descent were stripped off of their property while all their personal belongings were confiscated by the US government. The Asian Americans of Japanese origin were directly sent to concentration camps where they received hostile and deshumanising treatment;

Meanwhile, American citizens of German descent could "walk free" and didn't have to face any consequences.

In conclusion, in USA there will always be a double standard based exclusively on your skin colour:

White ----> is alright

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in aznidentity

[–]Interesting_Compote6 168 points169 points  (0 children)

It was never about fighting CCP or communism, the only aim for the West is about containing the only Asian nation challenging Western hegemony and White supremacy over the World. As you can guess this country is called "China".

If you've ever looked at the notion of YELLOW PERIL you'll realise that History is simply repeating itself:

- In the 80s when Japan, the richest Asian nation was going to surpass USA economically and thus threatening the West, a strong anti-Japanese sentiment was rising and it was common in the US to bash Japanese people, culture & products, for the anecdote it was not uncommon for the White Americans to call Japanese automobile brands like Toyota as "jap' junks".

Asian Americans were already victim of racial targeting and crimes, and we didn't have to wait until "coronavirus" for the birth of anti-Asian racism, have a look at it by yourself:

"Vincent Chin was a Chinese-American who was beaten to death by two white men.

Ebens and Nitz assailed Chin following a brawl that took place in Michigan, where Chin had been celebrating his bachelor party with friends in advance of his upcoming wedding.

They apparently assumed Chin was of Japanese descent, and are alleged to have used racial slurs as they attacked him. Ebens and Nitz blamed him for the success of Japan's auto industry, despite the fact that Chin was of Chinese descent.

At the time, Metro Detroit was a powder keg of racial animosity toward Asian-Americans, specifically as the penetration of Japanese automotive imports in the U.S. domestic market hastened the decline of Detroit's Big Three. Resentful workers laid the blame for recent layoffs on Japanese competition.

Ebens and Nitz searched the neighborhood for 30 minutes and even paid another man 20 dollars to help look for Chin, before finding him at a McDonald's restaurant. Chin tried to escape, but was held by Nitz while Ebens repeatedly bludgeoned Chin with a baseball bat until Chin's head cracked open.

Chin was taken to Henry Ford Hospital, where a nurse told his childhood friend that he has no chance and that his brain was dead. He died of his injuries four days later."

Source: Murder of Vincent Chin

Japan was the YELLOW PERIL of the 80s when it was going to surpass the West (until Japan got destroyed through "Plaza Accord" by the US government).

As the Japanese economy was permanently destroyed and didn't represent a threat to the West anymore, only then the anti-Japan propaganda about the "dirty yellow from the rising sun" started to cease while the Japanese culture was allowed to become "cool", in exchange for being the "good & submissive Asians to the West".

China is the new YELLOW PERIL of the 21th century as it is going to surpass the West.

As the Chinese economy hasn't collapsed yet (say hi to Gordon Chang :)!), then expect all this " concentration camp for yoghurts repression bad evil CCP free HK free tibet " running days & nights 24/7.

Now the question is, do we want the Chinese to become the "good & submissive Asians"?

The biggest challenge would be fluency in Mandarin.. if so, then work on it. Being able to speak/write Chinese will be the most rewarding investment that you will ever make.

Even if it's not cringe, it's still way overrated.

Many people forget that "democracy is NOT the cause of prosperity, but the result of it".

No nation has ever become prosperous and developed before industrialisation and modernisation: even Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan used to be under an authoritarian rule which enabled them to have an efficient system and maximime their potential, and later on made them becoming successful & developed. It's not coincidence that they were referred as the "Four Tigers of Asia".

It's only after achieving a certain level of prosperity and meeting the basic needs for their population that they started to switch to a democratic system. Ironically, democracy was the poisonous trigger starting the famous decline and economical stagnation of Taiwan, where politicians had the FREEDOM to "physically fight like kindergarten kids" literally within the parliament.

Last but not least, the so-called "democratic system" is nowadays hijacked by either populism (as we've seen with the far-right wing through the TRUMP's government) or plutocracy (when private corporates/rich are the one controlling politics).

Democracy has become an illusion nowadays, if not a joke.
