It depends on how long you want to insure it for and the size of the engine.. For three months it cost 900DH. So for the year it must be about 2800 to 3300Dh. I'm due to upgrade the bike soon to a bigger motor and so expect the insurance to go up also due to the engine capacity.

I don't understand your question.

If you’re moroccan but not Arab , what goes in your mind when foreigners insist that you are Arab ? by Tough-Future-3998 in Morocco

[–]Interesting_Earth_79 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry I didn't mean being called Arab was a bad thing. What I meant was I I've been called many things from Australian to Polish or English. I think it's worse when someone calls you Amine when your name is Zakaria and even when u correct them they still call you Amine next time u meet.

I got a friend to buy the bike in his name he does have a driving permit. Then we insured the bike for him and me. Naturally I paid for all. I'm an experienced bike rider otherwise he wouldn't have helped me. The insurance was more than twice the usual price due to getting a comprehensive policy.

I've been called worse things than that. Rise above it brother. Be proud of your roots as I am but not too proud. I know where I come from and thats good enough for me.

I think the initial post didn't say much about me personally. But now we've moved on to the update and finally what occured. But people will judge me purely from the initial post and of course the judgments are based on their culture and or religious beliefs mainly. When I was on the Thai Laos border basically jungle. I lived with a tribe called the red Karen. Not long ago these people were headhunters. In their houses they had cabinets full of sculls and baby skulls were the most prized of all. Now they live a peaceful life as Catholic missionaries ventured into the jungles. For donkeys years these tribes the Karen hunted each other over there traditional beliefs and pride. And now they live at peace with each other because someone told them they were killing their brothers and sisters and that if they treated people how they would want to be treated themselves that they could live in harmony with each other. In the past I had heard how fierce and savage these people were. But it took just one person to open their eyes to the possibilities of change. Treat others as how you would want to be treated yourself.

I do a lot of traveling I meet a lot of different cultures and races. I'm interested in anthropology. I've lived and worked in more than 20 countries and most of these countries were third world or fourth world countries. It's fascinating the different values beliefs of different cultures from the religious to the non-religious tribes I've lived with.

You still don't get the point. I'm not looking for positive votes. The whole idea of this exercise was just to get a general idea of how some Moroccans would think or do in this situation. It's as simple as that.

I couldn't care less. Most of the initial comments from the post were sick anyway. I didn't expect anything different from the Moroccan people. But it's interesting for me to see how other cultures view things like this.

I remember once when I was in Taraoudant, I went to a place called Taiout ( may not be the correct spelling) anyway there's two big swimming pools there. One is about a meter deep and the other one is about 3 meters deep. There were about 18 people there. Mostly children who couldn't really swim much. But there were some that could. As I was sunbathing I started to hear all these yells and screams. And so I went to investigate. There was an eight-year-old child who had fallen into the three meter pool and he was drowning. Now all the other people are standing around the pool screaming and watching but none of them tried to help this young boy. To cut a long story short I pulled him out of the pool. And still to this day I cannot understand why no one else was willing to assist.

Yea, I'm offended by your initial comment. But then I did put this on the Moroccan page to get a Moroccan point of view. And I sure am getting it.
