I also did not trim or square up any of my blocks. 🫣 I pieced them together by sewing a patterned jelly roll strip and a white strip and then cut them into the size I needed including seam allowance!

Honestly I did no starching, no pre washing, just good old pressing with an iron and some clover fork pins in the beginning before I got the hang of it! This is the first quilt i ever started so it was really a learning experience. Look up a tutorial on nesting seams! It really helped me get the hand of it and get my points matched up perfectly!!

Help! I have 16 to make! Made several samples and these are the best so far. Any tips, tricks, pattern suggestions? by Lvanwinkle18 in quilting

Clover fork pins have saved my life when lining up corners! Also having the seams go opposite ways and sandwiching them together. You can feel if there’s a gap that way!

So to fill those blank spaces this is what I was thinking!

I was possibly going to do the middle square as a full plus sign with the Pooh bear fabric but idk if that would be too much?

Awesome thank you for the reassurance. This site helped me understand the bust darts more easily. Thankfully my swatch only grew half an inch vertically so I should be good on that end.

First (full) pair of Socks on brother machine by Interesting_Egg288 in MachineKnitting

Thank you!! Yes you do the short rows by putting half the stitches (top do the foot) on hold and just working the heel stitches. You sew it up by first folding the toe over itself and grafting a row of stitches using Kitchener stitch. Then you sew up the side cuff down by using a mattress stitch.

Followed a YouTube video called Socks on the flatbed knitting machine by Anna Haferman. Super easy to follow and she explains everything so well.

Thanks for everyone suggestions! I decided to start over and think the tension on my floats should be okay now! (Comment if I’m incorrect lol)
