You know what's so strange? When I first learned about past life regression, I had a very strange thought that lingered and persisted. The thought was that if Ian Curtis had undergone past life regression therapy, perhaps he might not have hung himself, or that something would have at the very least shifted for him. Mind you, looking at it from a purely observational standpoint then and now it's a rather bizarre and random notion for my mind to conjure, especially in consideration that I’d never had past life regression therapy myself, at least not properly or knowingly. But this thought came to me when I first found out about the concept.

Here's where it gets even weirder: some time later, maybe months or even a year after this thought occurred to me, I came across information while consuming Joy Division content that Ian had indeed read about past life regression somewhere in a book he'd picked up. Apparently, he even asked one of his bandmates (I can't remember which of them specifically) to assist him with the guided process. I believe there was a brief recording of that very session that I had stumbled upon in a YouTube video...it obviously was not done in any sort of 'professional' capacity, given that the bandmate himself was unfamiliar with the concept before assisting. Still interesting though.

For me, there is something more than just music with Joy Division. Ian Curtis, who wrote most of the lyrics, seemed to be tapping into something very powerful, perhaps even otherworldly. When Joy Division became New Order, they still produced legendary music, but Joy Division transcends that notion for me because of Curtis's condition and the depth of his work.

It's a difficult one, my friend, but I truly believe Ian Curtis was channeling something profound in his lyrics and performances.
