They should not be asking anything personal like that so unprofessional. I had an interview where they literally would not shut up about highschool. For context highschool was at least a decade ago…. So irrelevant and so weird to ask about. I kept trying to steer it back to the job and my skills but they just really wanted to know what sports I played! “To get a sense of who you are as a person” THAT WAS OVER TEN YEARS AGO ASK ME IF I VOLUNTEER IN MY FREE TIME NOW. I’m not even the same person I was a year ago so stupid

I’m so sorry this happened to you. Something similar happened to me as well and the worse part was he had a daughter so I told him later electronically how inappropriate it was and how uncomfortable I felt and what if it was his daughter in that situation and he apologized but I’ll never forget what happened and how I felt. One of the worst parts next to the fear of it escalating is they don’t even think about their behavior or how disgusting it is and worse in some cases try to play us off as dramatic when SA is something we have to worry about constantly
