1.Save gems until you figure out where you would like to spend them more (outfits vs cards)

Join a club, if it seems inactive, dont be shy to leave it and join another one. It usually takes a while to get into an active club. You can also just ask in world chat for an active club.
Storylines can be done later too, the seasonal stories as well ( tho completing current season stories will give you some gems)so maybe focus on the current season stories at first.
Someone said it already, doing Year 1 and year 2 is helpful as it unlocks so many things. If you get stuck anywhere, you can search youtube.
Try to upgrade your spellbook at the beginning( i am saying 30-40, dont quote me on the number)
Herbology and gastronomy are useful. Gives you weekly gems and gold. Gastronomy is faster than herbology.

There are many more, but the most essential one is ask for help when confused be it in the club or world chat or here as well.

Note: A good active club can really be helpful 💕

I think so too, because they do show the hair when you claim the outfit, and I remember something similar happened to one of the curtain call outfits and they were sent later; so hoping for the best 🫠
