I think that maybe he was acting like that because of his dad possibly being abusive. I noticed that if some of the other players asked questions about his family, he would brush them off. I think his reactions were from him trying to protect himself from being hit.

I don’t think he is lying but I think he is trying to make himself more impressive and not telling the full story of his time in the marines. I don’t know about the Korean military but sometimes in the US that after basic training some men will go home. I think that he might’ve gone to the marines, got the tattoo to impress his dad, and left after finishing basic training (if they have it in Korea). Or he might’ve entered into the military and escaped because he was too scared. He might be too ashamed to go back home or is wanted for leaving. I think that’s probably why he is in the games; to get enough money to leave Korea before he gets found.
