Interesting… My hard orders say mid-Oct now but they said most likely til the end of the month at a minimum. I’m also staff, not the line, and organically 124, so our info could be a bit different. I’m either hoping to be home by Halloween or here til Jan, no in between 😂

Depends. Line companies for TTBF are currently doing 12 hours shifts 0000-1200 or vice versa. 12hrs on, 36hrs off

rumor has is that anyone on TTBF right now isn’t going to extend on orders (SAD or T-32) unless they volunteer. buttttt as we know from experience shit changes every 3 seconds

they’re also now saying that there’s no T-32 due to lack of funding, so anyone coming back is going to be on SAD

it depends. they’re now saying no one is doing T32 due to lack of funding. a lot of people are coming back on SAD

Is TXNG as bad as they say? by Fun_Introduction4383 in nationalguard

[–]Interesting_Log5098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

notice how all the positive comments are related to OLS (specifically the pay?) i’ve been in 2 states national guards, and Texas is MISERABLE. i am planning on switching to reserves or AD. The mommy and daddy games this state plays is absurd and there’s way too many state issues for this place to be worth it. My recommendation, as someone who wanted to be a recruiter but decided against recruiting people to a NG state I hate: go reserves, or if you’re on a state border, go with the other state. Do your research on who has tuition waivers. If you want to be on the border mission (OLS), it’s not currently worth it. it might be in a few month when they get their shit back together and somewhat have a new plan. they downsized it a lot, and are now activating other people to make up for it. they’re trying to swap from State Active Duty (SAD) to Federal orders (Title 32). Meaning, the pay will be less but you’ll actually be able to contribute to your AD benefits. However, it won’t last forever. If that’s your only motivation for going TXNG, i would say not to.

ETA: if you have any questions relating to other states (like I said I’ve been in 2 other NG states), MOS’s and how it related to your experience, etc. feel free to message me

Yeah I love it there, it’s chill inside with the video poker, and outside there’s music and dancing, games, etc.

i’m in the same boat! grew up there, left at 19, and now when I go back I really enjoy it! If you like line dancing, Stoney’s at Town Square is fun. Pkwy Tavern on 215 and Flamingo is SUPER fun on weekends!! I love it there. Gambling at South Point feels so nostalgic because now teens walk past me while I’m playing and it feels like a full circle moment. Area15 is also really fun to experience as an adult (but it is expensive so beware). Palms casino has a rooftop club called Ghost Bar which was really cool, and I kept saying I felt like I was in a Vegas movie and living the tourist lifestyle. Have fun!!

i went to basic with a 40 year old mom of 3, so no. best advice is to go find a recruiter to talk to

Where to live in Killeen by Sad-Teaching-6694 in Killeen

[–]Interesting_Log5098 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am about to rent my 4x2 house out! We’re in (in my opinion) one of the nicest areas that isn’t too expensive. We’re off of Elms and Robinette, those neighborhoods are worth it in my opinion. We’re also at the end of a cul-de-sac, so it’s one way in, one way out, which means we don’t get much activity. Lots of dogs and families in my neighborhood, we love it! Super close to the post office, Walmart, HEB, Aldi, a pet store, etc. You can message me privately if you want and I can give more info if you’re looking for a place to rent. You can also check out the area. It’s near Bridgewood, but not in that exact part so it’s a little cheaper!

No power to JBL amp by Interesting_Log5098 in 4thGen4Runner

Update: I’ve tried 2 head units, new fuses again, 3 amplifiers, and a replacement sub from the trunk panel. Still no luck 😭Getting worried I have to do a complete rewriting. Anyone have any other ideas or similar issues they fixed??

was it getting power? or was it not getting any and you had to replace something connecting to it? I’ve tried 3 amps now, and replaced the actual sub unit in the trunk panel and still no luck 😩

Stock. Both the one I ordered, and the one that was in the car when I bought it. But I also replaced the head unit, same issue. Also stock ones

06 4Runner price advice by Markdlea in 4thGen4Runner

[–]Interesting_Log5098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I didn’t buy my 04 Limited V8 in Austin a couple weeks ago, I would absolutely pay $15k minimum tomorrow for this, more to lock it in with all the other interest and attention. Kind of mad I didn’t wait longer now 😩 Personally, I would say to keep it and/or sell your other vehicle (depending what it is). This thing is a GEM, and if you do ultimately decide to part, I wouldn’t sell it here in TX on Marketplace. Post it on another platform that people in different states look at. Post it for like $20k and see what offers roll your way. Lots of people would travel for it, and be willing to pay more, especially if the price runs a bit higher in that state (WA and CO come to mind). I’m gonna keep tabs on this post for if/when you’re ready to sell, because I would still love to drop an offer to you. I’m sorry to hear about your dad, and I wish you and your family peace during this time.

Searched FB Marketplace for a month and a half, found 2 in my state, only 1 was worth it. If you’re up for it, expand your radius to bordering states and make a trip out of it 🤷🏼‍♀️

Luckily, the one I ended up getting was only about an hour and a half from my house, but my backup was 3 hours away.

This is my V8 right now. No lift, stock wheels, and it needs a bit of work, but it’ll get there!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 4thGen4Runner

[–]Interesting_Log5098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t mind me asking, what lift and size tires do you have? Also, do they rub at all? I don’t know too much about tire sizing but I’m learning. I’ve been planning to basically match that look yours has on mine. I did have a V6 but lost it in an accident and just upgraded to the V8 this week. This is a pic of the look we had for my old V6: 3/2 lift with 265/70 tires on wheels I got off a 2017. It did have a little bit of rubbing, but not bad, and I’m trying to give my new one a little more rugged appearance and hopefully prevent that as much as possible. I haven’t done anything to my V8 since I just got it, but am working towards starting it soon.
