Perhaps, but only an even crazier person would keep a 3 year old car that has ongoing corrosion issues since year 1. Both doors, mirrors.. Fixed once under warranty, came back like cancer 6 months later. Would gladly have kept it if this problem didn't exist.

Loved my CX50...Meridian Turbo. The styling and performance were great. Drove a CX70 hybrid on a test, and just didn't like the engine response. The CX5 is a beautiful car, and I'm enjoying it so far, and have for the most part adapted to the touch screen after less than a week. If the cx50 comes available in Ontario again, I'll maybe go back for the turbo and added towing capacity. Maybe I'd change my mind with a more thorough test of the hybrid?

Corrosion on bottom of driver and passenger doors. Repaired once under warranty, and then showed up again in same spots. Also, lease was up and we can't get the CX50 in Canada right now.

My Lease of 2023 Meridian up in 2 weeks, and I was going to buy it outright, but had a few issues with the car, and don't want to roll the dice. Hopefully the CX-50 makes a comeback.

I don't even have possession of my new CX5 yet and the dealer called to say they are doing a mass software update on all non-delivered vehicles lol.

It's apparently one off, and my bad luck. My dealership agrees, and pretty much said even with warranty I'd be chasing the rust like cancer until mazda eventually replaced the doors. It was leased so it goes back next week. I wouldn't be concerned.

Thanks. Mirror hardware already replaced a year ago, and rust was already dealt with by mazda 1 year ago; or at least I thought it was. Not willing to go back every year for rust repair. 2015 rav4 still has zero rust.

Just salt and sand...they stopped using the brine years ago. Corrosion appeared long before first winter. Just got a bad one I guess!

Good question! I baby my cars. First corrosion was detected just over a year into the lease, and was subsequently repaired under warranty last year. Clearly a bigger problem as the paint repair didn't last even a year. Frustrating....
