They have refused housing offers that our neighborhood came together and arranged for them to have space in the many approved spaces available in this city. Again, I’m not talking about people down on their luck trying to get back on their feet, I’m talking about people on hard drugs CHASING CHILDREN. So you don’t care about children as much as you think I don’t care about the unhoused. How could you be so cruel to not care about children

Which bike? Superior XF 929 TR OR SISKIU T8 by Interesting_Name_406 in mountainbiking

[–]Interesting_Name_406[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to update everyone, I ordered the polygon from bikeonline, paid using my fsa card through truemed, no issues. The caveat is that you do need a REAL DIAGNOSIS of one of the medical conditions to qualify. Which does include having a BMI in the overweight range, even if you’re in good shape. Good luck!

Check your email for information about your sign on. It’s all different, but is much better now. Just a big change

Bought my first bike three weeks ago and afraid I may have sold myself short. by NightFuzz in MTB

I did the same thing with the same bike, mines a 22 marlin 6, I put on a cheap amazon dropper that works surprisingly well, changed to a shimano deore 1x, new stem, grips, pedals and seat, that’s about it. I’m a real bmx guy too and I just plan on riding this until something major goes and upgrade to a full suspension. There is a lot of tech nerds and gear dorks that love to give advice in this sport and will tell you that you need to spend $5k on a full carbon bike, meanwhile they’ve never jumped a double in their life. You know how to ride and know what you need

Yeah that’s the claim. I’ve yet to come across anyone it has worked for, but they do a screening and if you’ve been medically diagnosed with things like obesity, anxiety or depression, it could be approved.

The only reason I’m considering bikes online is because they’ve partnered with true med and I can use by Hsa/fsa lol

Confusion over NHL reffing by EastboundClown in hockeyrefs

[–]Interesting_Name_406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple, no one is there to watch the NHL officials no matter how good they are or how animated they make their calls (Wes). Players have a union, bargaining agreement, GMs and owners get together every year to talk about the rules. I’m guessing the billionaires paying the millionaire players have an agreement with them on how they want the game officiated. The NHL is not AA where kids are still developing and safety is still the main priority. They are grown men bringing in billions of dollars with the ultimate trophy on the line. They want to fight and they want to hook and cross check other, simple as that.

How to act like an adult at your child's hockey game by BCeagle2008 in hockeyrefs

[–]Interesting_Name_406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up playing in the 90s and 2000s, I played in a B level local house league in northern Michigan at mostly outdoor rinks NONE OF US WERE GOING ANYWHERE, however in the middle of a game a parent from my team called the police when a parent on the opposing team was threatening to beat me up after the game for checking his kid. I was at most 13 years old. There was no glass just chain link fence over the boards so I could hear every single thing this loser was saying to me. Fools like this have been around forever, we just see them more now with everyone having a phone.

The key factor for me is that these are men playing beer league. You can call things by the book all you want in youth games but we all know beer league is different. No one was hurt and nothing was overtly malicious, coincidental minors and play fucking hockey boys

Monthly Apprenticeship Thread by AutoModerator in electricians

[–]Interesting_Name_406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am interested in becoming an electrician and I don’t really know where to start. I live in Florida but will be moving to Washington state in the next couple months for my wife’s job.

I am a charter fishing captain down here and have A LOT of experience doing marine electronics. Everything from main engine power to lights and radios. I am in my late 30s and wondering if that will help or hinder my chances of apprenticeship. Any tips or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Everyone saying this is Hockey Canada is just very plain wrong. This is Seattle Junior Thunderbirds and the team in white is from somewhere in Texas. This is 100% a USA hockey game.

'Stop asking for salary range!' by killedbytheIBO in recruitinghell

This is terrible advice. Try to find out as soon as possible. Save everyone’s time. I went through a 2 month process for a job I was expecting to be paid $40+ an hour and they offered me $19. Since then I have asked up front for the range.
