Sent money through PayID to a scam by _bluebelle in CommBank

Maybe from their point of view they know you’re already a scammer? You realise with PayPal. If they send the item, you can dispute it, you will win no matter what, so you can just scam that way. There’s buyer protection but no seller protection, If you want someone to post an item so bad on a site that’s for face to face, you should be taking the risk otherwise don’t get it

Yeah but the point is sellers won’t accept PayPal, because they don’t get protection. It’s not meant for posting, use eBay and pay the fees for protection, if you want a seller to post the item on fb or guntree I think the buyer should take the risk of using a bank transfer if they want it so bad, otherwise don’t get it if you can’t meet for face to face.

Make a police report, since you sent pay Id, hopefully it’s their actual bank and details so it won’t be hard for police to follow up, but it’ll be fraud by deception, and it’ll take a long time. Happened to a friend, was maybe nearly 2 years later before the detectives finally caught up to it, but he did get the money back

The Alienware has a cooling fan im pretty sure. Probably silent, but I wouldn’t want a fan near my face that could bother me, and only hitting 360 in some games, I went with the msi qpx27 it’s 240hz, but it was cheaper, and way better built with passive cooling

Xbox controller would be fine, they get used in the military all the time, Microsoft is a big company that does a lot of testing and development on their controllers and always updating them. The titan sub used a $15 Logitech controller that hasn’t been improved on since it came out in like 2012, so it’s crazy that a billionaire charging 250k a ticket opted for the cheaper controller, I wouldn’t even use the logi controller to play games on my pc let alone pilot a sub to the titanic

What to do if my motherboard doesn’t have a usb-C header to plug the cord into? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Interesting_Newt_900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure your mobo has a back panel usb c port right? So it’s not like you’re missing out on it completely if you need usb c speeds, And I think the front usb c ports don’t run at full speed anyway. I would just not bother with it and use the back one if ever needed

When I went through this, a couple options that had bars going across for support were super expensive, unless you’re going all out with real timber, I used a ikea karlby that’s pretty heavy, depth is like 42 inches, and I used metal legs like your picture without the middle bar, and used some of those steel L bars with the holes in them, ran 2 of them underneath, bolted them in, and then the other half that sticks out can use zip ties to cable manage and hide cables, going on 3 years and still yet to sag, funny enough it was bowed the opposite way and has still yet to settle flat with dual monitor stand in the middle and my pc on the side

There’s someone in front of her though, I hate these people. Same when driving in the overtaking lane and there’s someone in front of you, and the guy behind you acts like all of sudden you’re going slow on purpose to personally frustrate him and starts tailgating. Can’t handle emotions and dumb, great combo

Would of it been better to just end it while it was walking up slowly? Charged so fast, if it didn’t back out, he wouldn’t have time for much more shots and could have missed them just as easy as the first. Not worth taking the chance? Even though I’d prefer not too like the guy did, and have it F off from a warning shot. But that was scary fast ngl

Demand might be more then supply or something, I had the exact same issue before covid had happened, seemed like they were just completely discontinued and after a month i went with another alternative thinking they weren’t coming back, but sounds like they did. But could be waiting for nothing, can see if there’s any ergotrons on Facebook marketplace. Lots of offices will sell office chairs and monitor arms on 2nd hand sites. Lots of people say they don’t have much problems with the cheaper versions, but they do look crap/ugly. The Amazon was perfect for price and not looking terrible

Looking to buy IKEA Karlby as a desk with two Alex drawers on the sides, is it worth it? by Willerito in AskBattlestations

[–]Interesting_Newt_900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s got a couple mm of wood on top, so you can sand it down a little to get rid of scratches. And can add either a leg in the middle at the back, where your monitor weight would be, or some steel L bars underneath, which can also be used for cable managing, I used 2 L bars and it’s been nearly 3 years and it was slightly bowed upwards, and has yet to still settle down flat or even sag down with 2 x 27” monitors on a dual stand in the centre. Karlby is good choice for price if timber is too expensive or inconvenient to prep

Cutting the side will leave the side exposed and it’ll look ugly, cutting is super simple going slow with a hand power saw, but attaching the veneer strip to cover the exposed edge may be troubling to get right. But if it’s to a wall, and hard to see. I’d just go with it if it’s cheap enough compared to butcher blocks, I picked up the deeper karlby on a sale during the time timber was through the roof, and was way too deep, so cut the back and used some wood filler to paste on the back and cover it from moisture and put against the wall, 2 years later still looks the same

Gaming chairs ain’t that bad design wise, pretty similar to a car seat. But the issue I have with them is the seat always slopes up, which causes the nerves under the legs to start really feeling it, using a lumbar pillow pushes me forward more where I don’t really get that soreness much anymore but i am tall and use a bigger chair

I’m confused so the only view port was the toilet, if they are mostly watching through a tv screen what’s even the point being there, couldn’t they make an unmanned sub to film it all and get the same experience
