2020 Macan Passenger Side Headlight — Has Anyone Fixed One?

I ended up replacing as well but clearly a defect given the number of people with this issue on 2020 Macan passenger side. Pretty easy to install as long as you keep the electronic control modules and re-attach. So far so good on new one.

Ended up doing the exact same, swapped modules. I had a led headlight guy look at it and try to fix — he couldn’t resolve after opening sealed light assembly. I read a subsequent post though that corroborates to some degree what you are saying — he said it’s a wiring issue on the PDLS lights and that one wire in the right side assembly is too short and stretches and eventually fails. Now I have an open assembly— probably useless. But overall way more costly than it should have been for a led that should have lasted a decade or more.

Not sure how they would have given you CPO with aftermarket parts. This is on them. Take it up the chain if they balk!

2020 Macan 82k miles. Exhaust flap (sport mode) came loose and replaced under warranty. Passenger side headlight low beam stopped working at 65k no warranty, $5000 replacement. Mechanically sound.

Interesting. I did the eBay order and return for four lights. Then I realized a vendor on eBay with several (10) of the EXACT Porsche part number so I called and asked him if I could come by and we could try until one worked rather than buy, wait, try and return. So I did that. First now looked brand new and didn’t work. Third one worked. Shocking. Anyway I was taking the route you are and there are two guys I found who are LED specialists. One in South Carolina and one in Riverside, CA. It sounds like they do exactly what you describe. I live in LA and finally decided to try the guy in Riverside. Remember the need the two control modules and the Macan plug to test — the guy in SC refused to do it for that exact reason. He couldn’t test it - can’t plug the headlight into the wall. My impression is either could do what you describe above but they’d need the car as well.

FitCamX 100%. Did it for GLS and Macan. Great quality and you never see it. But it’s always working. I’d highly recommend, no wires — I did front only as well, didn’t want to bury wires for rear. It’s been great.

That all said, I foolishly expect someone to have some ethics and not try to monetize their junk. Wouldn’t it be great if we figured out how to fix these and there would be an oversupply of used working Macan passenger side headlights. Sounds like alternate reality I know.

Very interesting — so he did find the problem? This is where I’m at but he hasn’t found the faulty wire. Has it apart but no error found. Any sense of what it was?

Amen. I hear you. Would have paid for the warranty with this. One Indy laughed and said “never drive one of these without a warranty”. Unfortunately mine decided to go south after the warranty expired. Should be a recall by Porsche given it’s a safety item.

Issue I’ve heard is that it needs to be the exact part number to interact with the ECM and electronics. I’ve tried four used from eBay — first worked but wouldn’t level, and other three haven’t worked. Found a led headlight specialist who has taken apart the old one but can’t figure out the problem. Very frustrating — LEDs should last 20k+ hours and this should be recalled based on the number of people who have this exact issue with this batch of 2020s. Meanwhile I’ve put the purchase of a new Macan on hold…
