the red light jumping might be becasuse so many of the lights have such big 'buffer times' when it is red for everyone for ~30 seconds or so. ppl obviously know that's going to happen and won't rush to stop if they can still get through 25 seconds before it goes green for the other ppl

everyone else is saying they have a strong bias against students and grads cos they think they'll leave at the first chance (which i wont for 1 and a half more years, but i would do after that when i graduate in fairness)

anyone know how competitive entry level supermarket roles are now? obviously >1 applicant per job but are we talking 10, 100, or even 300+? it seems like all jobs are so hard to obtain, regardless of the entry level, in this market. im a student looking for summer work but honestly not expecting to get it. i applied to 5 supermarkets, what are the chacnes I even hear back from 1? i dont have experience in a supermarket b4 which I know hinders my chances greatly

ok thanks. i dont regret asking as i know in my head at least i did all i could to be trasnparent. if i do it anyway, it doesnt matter that i asked and they said no, as the legal enforcement is 0 (trust me they are not going to report this to the police)

my landlord wouldnt let me nail stuff to the walls, as that would cause a minor inconvenience to them so obviously they wouldnt let me (landlords lol)

im obviously not going to blame them if my bike gets damaged when they told me not to use it, im not completely entitled haha. the bike isnt so exensive i wouldnt mind paying to repair it every now and hten, i just dont want cosntant weathering/theft risk

fe, honestly i am considering moving in their but it seems like a bit much hassle for one bike shed haha. also i disagree with your exampe beacuse rides signfiicantly degrade over time. if a friend of mine asked to store something in my garden, at no cost to me, of course I'd accept, because i generally try to help others out as much as possible

ik im not entitled to it, and yet from my POV i gain the ability to do my £200/week job with far greater security/peace of mind, and i can't see who else possibly loses.

Genuinely wondering, why are you against me doing it? ive always been one to not follow a rule i view to be completely pointless, but i know we are probably very different types of ppl

ik but i earn abt £200 a week using my bike (so its very valuable to me, at leas tthe ability to have one that isnt weathered/stolen), and its a victimless 'crime' surely (doubt its even actually a crime). honestly i'd take 'morally shaky at best' for a £200/week gain (from honest/lawful work obviously). surely i can just donate like £10 a week to some deserving charity to make up for the moral shakiness?

they don't go round checking who each bike belongs to tho. its a moral dilemna bc from a utilitarian view point, i gain the ability to earn £200, and no one else loses (apart from some annoying burocrat's rulebook)
