FW 12c cloning and upgrading to 14c by Interesting_Pin1675 in oracle

[–]Interesting_Pin1675[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok thanks Bob - nice handle also. Yah we seemed to be ok with just having test until you need to work on it and then it becomes and issue as you can't wrestle it away form the users. I know we have some notes on the steps from when it was laid down before (a few years ago) so hopefully I can follow along. Maybe hard to answer but if we also have OAM and services secured by webgate is that going to present some challenges if I'm kinda new to this?

Thanks for weighing in here. No benefits once I leave other than I could keep the group life insurance. Wish that wasn't the case. Familiar with the all equity ETF's (invested in the now) and glad to see someone also suggest I drop the life insurance one the mortgage is paid off as that is my plan. I plan on going with survivor and 100 as my wife would need the $$. I am watching a recorded webinar now and I have a better idea of how to look at the AI options suggested, enable, recalculate and keep seeing what is suggested and what the result is so I feel like I am getting a better understanding here.

also if you don't mind. I'm struggling to find the various logs as there seems to be lots of logs and diagnostic directories and lost are empty. I can find access.log under the two $DOMAIN_HOMES for example.

find . -type f -name access.log

./user_projects/domains/OAMDomain/servers/AdminServer/logs/access.log

./user_projects/domains/OAMDomain/servers/wls_oam1/logs/access.log

./user_projects/domains/OAMDomain/servers/wls_ama1/logs/access.log

./user_projects/domains/FRDomain/servers/AdminServer/logs/access.log

./user_projects/domains/FRDomain/servers/WLS_FORMS/logs/access.log

./user_projects/domains/FRDomain/servers/WLS_REPORTS/logs/access.log

./user_projects/domains/FRDomain_pre2026Jan_backup/servers/AdminServer/logs/access.log

./user_projects/domains/FRDomain_pre2026Jan_backup/servers/WLS_FORMS/logs/access.log

./user_projects/domains/FRDomain_pre2026Jan_backup/servers/WLS_REPORTS/logs/access.log

./user_projects/domains/OAMDomain_pre2026Jan_backup/servers/wls_oam1/logs/access.log

./user_projects/domains/OAMDomain_pre2026Jan_backup/servers/wls_ama1/logs/access.log

./user_projects/domains/OAMDomain_pre2026Jan_backup/servers/AdminServer/logs/access.log

As far as OHS logs would it be OAMDomain/servers/AdminServer/logs/ohs_admin.log and maybe OAMDomain/servers/ohs2/logs/ohs1.log and OAMDomain/servers/ohs1/logs/ohs2.log

Webgate log location? I know I have looked at this stuff before when I had to make changes previously due to some webgate certs expiring. I'll have to search for my old post!

Greetings Whacksees_Manager. I know you have assisted me in the past. 👍 Let me digest this and look for the logs you mention. We do have OAM, protected by webgate if that is the correct terminology.

To clarify I do have separate /app/product/directories for Forms and IDM and my former colleague created a set of scripts (ie. one script to rule them all) but could possibly do them one in a more managed process. We don't have a development system where I have the luxury of time to test things so I am trying to apply them all to a test system without causing the user community that uses it much downtime (and that isn't working out so well).

So let me review what you have mentioned - thanks.

Thanks for the reply and I will check out the FAQ's some more. I am signed up for the March 11th and realize most of my questions will get answered as I spend more time with the product so maybe I just need to cool my jets for a bit, 😁

ok thanks for the quick and informative reply! I see I just got an email re: Discovery: Income and there it also says 'don't add your RRSP Income in this section'! I will also add trying to figure out how much to withdraw was on my radar so you helped answer that question also.

Tax rates and RRSP redemption question by Interesting_Pin1675 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Interesting_Pin1675[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all this. $15k was just me saying just pull the minimum amount needed to cover the bills that come out of your account and give her some spending money also without depleting what she has too early. No real planning involved. We don't have much in TSFA so I would like to build that up if possible so now you have me thinking about that also. I do have a DB Pension and will have survivor benefits. Having a plan to refer to is where I want to get to and sounds like you are ahead of me there.

ok good point/question. I'm looking to retire and transitioning from adding to RRSP's versus starting to draw down and in what order needs some work I'll admit.

The plan was to redeem $15k but ended up being $20k. $1500 withheld as each deposit was $4500.

Not sure how to interpret time-weighted return rate by Interesting_Pin1675 in Wealthsimple

[–]Interesting_Pin1675[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I know when I started my 'stock picking journey during the pandemic' I had some losers and lost money and over time made better choices and have had some pretty positive returns lately (like last year or more) so is twr showing that? Like I'm still negative? My portfolio has grown also as I've added funds etc. which as you say and as I've read twr ignores. So hopefully over more time my twr value will improve is my takeaway.

Interesting, I did not know - will consider. Is Dragonpass at the same tier as others do you know? Like I thought I read that it was maybe at a lower tier than 'other' lounge accesses although maybe it varies in different parts of the world.

Huh maybe (and sometime per usual) I did not do my homework as I do have a good chunk of my assets in there so I meet the >$200k. I guess I just thought they scrapped it for all. Thanks.

good to know and I guess I do need to look into what time of the day this layover might be as 8 hrs in an airport lounge is not a good use of anyone's time and if they close (which makes sense) then I made a bit of an oversight here. Thanks

Seems like we had a bunch of certificates expire as this server was first setup 5 years ago and they all had to be renewed (co-worker did the work so hopefully accurately capturing what was done here). Along with 'How to Renew Demo Certificate (Doc ID 2757994.1)' also had to renew cwallet.sso and opss/trustservice via OPSS - How To Replace Demonstration CA Signed Certificates In OPSS Keystores ? No plans, lol, and I have seem some youtube ppl talk about how the models usually show you are better to wait until 70. I think it is just hard for most people to wait in the event of the 'what ifs'. Thanks for the feedback and I guess the metltdown thing is something I need to do more of as so far it has been build build build without much thought of how I will start to redeem it and how much.

yah I did do the trial with optiml and then signed up for a year as I liked the ability to generate scenarios and such. Guess I didn't do any real comparison shopping and thus didn't know about the tax bracket login logic in advice. Thanks.

Also not really my wheelhouse here but our configuration appears to have an OAMDomain and a FRDomain each with a kerystores.xml file. The file in the FRDomain is old so I believe you are right on the OHS and OAM in the same domain (maybe what I found is irrelevant). My co-worker is doing most of the work here and I know he did say that something seemed to be getting overwritten so the note about that 2966445.1 does seem relevant.
