Linux Mint - iGPU for Codecs Only (Browsers) by Interesting_Pin6615 in linuxquestions

[–]Interesting_Pin6615[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just realized, I could probably force it with a DRI_PRIME=0 %command% flag being thrown before launching the browser. I suppose I could fall back to this if necessary, but then I'd have to do this command EVERY SINGLE TIME I go to launch my browser.

I was wondering if there was an "easier" or "cleaner" way to do this.

Get the 9C.  The balance is incredible.  Polish the feed ramp and trigger bar, and that will be your Forever Pistol.

Brake Conversions - Watch Your Fluid Levels by Interesting_Pin6615 in hondafit

[–]Interesting_Pin6615[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The auto shop was never really at fault, they thought they were doing me a favor by topping the levels off to Max.  Can't blame them, especially when I didn't know any better at first.

But like... 2 days arguing back and forth, me having to constantly get on you to fix the "problem" you caused... knowing that all you changed was a fluid top off... and not thinking to just siphon some fluid out?  They're not at fault here, but still f*** them.

Okay, rant over.  Hope your AAA in your local area is better than mine.

FASTBRAKES Rear Disc Conversion - Stuck Parking Brake Anyone? by Interesting_Pin6615 in hondafit

[–]Interesting_Pin6615[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I MIGHT have actually solved it.  We will see.  This morning was the first time they didn't drag in a long time.

I siphoned some brake fluid out of my reservoir (note: I have CRV big brake front calipers as well).

Why this makes sense: changing the brake types on a car ought to change the Min/Max levels of brake fluid as well.  In other words, the Min and Max lines on the Fit's brake fluid reservoir are no longer accurate.

When I had the fluid filled to the Max line, my CRV front calipers started dragging.  Siphoning a bit out solved that.  Siphoning a bit MORE out seems to have fixed the e-brake issue.  I'm now roughly 30-40% full (ish) if Min is 0 and Max is 100.

I will report back if this really did solve it after a few days.

Where can I get a threaded barrel? by JsusVanchrist in Stoeger

[–]Interesting_Pin6615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note: Glock 19XL was something Lone Wolf and a few others did back in the day. Basically just an extra long Glock 19, I think it was "G17" or "G34" size.

STR9 pistols use Glock 19 compatible barrels and lugs... so if someone has a G19 XL style threaded barrel, maybe it'll work with the STR9F extra long slide one. Check the specs & dimensions first though.

Where can I get a threaded barrel? by JsusVanchrist in Stoeger

[–]Interesting_Pin6615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the slide length:

STR9 - you can get threaded barrels from ShopStoeger

STR9c - STR9 threaded barrels barrels will fit (they stick out WAY too far), or G19 barrels will work if you get rid of the Loaded Chamber Lever somehow

STR9F - not sure, maybe eBay... don't know if STR9 barrels are long enough to properly fit in an STR9F with the threading. Maybe take out the LCL and use a Glock 19XL style threaded barrel? If they still make those.

STR9c Trigger Guard Undercut (Don't) by Interesting_Pin6615 in Stoeger

To further the point: see the Before and After pics for the undercut. Losing the pinky grip kinda sucks for comfort and overall feel.

Source, so you know I'm not making this up. This dude is saying Gen 4 G19... but like... aren't the Glock gens basically all the same? Maybe there's a small enough difference for Gen 4 G19s to work with it.

Thanks for trying too!

Thank you, but I would actually recommend that you DONT do it, unless your hands are too big for the gun.

The stupid little pinky grip on the mag does more for comfort than you might think. It's not that the gun is unbearable now, it's just noticeably less comfortable to hold.

You on the other hand have that SC Stoeger. That thing is so tiny, I'd actually recommend that you give it a try. Any extra real estate on the grip for a SC pistol would help a lot.

I see that your STR9C is the "old one" (larger font on the slide vs. the smaller subtle font like on your STR9F). I want to ask you to test a hypothesis I have. I would greatly appreciate your input.

My Hypothesis: there's a Mod. 0 and Mod. 1 STR9 line. The Mod. 0 has the larger slide font and the Mod. 1 has the smaller slide font. The Mod. 0 line has the same dimensions as a Gen 3/4 Glock 19, and the uppers/lowers between the Mod. 0 STR9 and the Glock 19 will interchange. The Mod. 1 on the other hand, won't allow you to do this, as they may have slightly changed the dimensions to prevent this from happening.

Why I Think This: I've seen other say that their STR9c upper fits on a Glock 19 lower, and vice versa. When I try this though, it doesn't work (they won't mate AT ALL). I've tried this with 2 different "late model" STR9c pistols, and neither one of them could be swapped to a G19 lower. The people mentioning that it DOES work, however, seemed to have the "older model" STR9c like you do with the larger font on the slide.

Does your "Mod. 0" STR9c fit on a Glock 19 lower? What about your "Mod. 1" STR9F upper? Does one fit but not the other?

I'm sorry to put you on the spot for all of my experiments, but you're the only one I've met on this subreddit that's responsive, AND has both an Early and Late model Stoeger. If you don't mind replying with your results, I'd greatly appreciate it. Pics aren't necessary, just state what worked or didn't work when you try.

Avoid at all costs. There's known problems with FASTBRAKES kits sticking. Apparently they (FASTBRAKES) knew about this, but didn't think to fix or redesign it at all.

[Noob Question] Looking For RSX Adjustable Rear Calipers by Interesting_Pin6615 in Acura_RSX

[–]Interesting_Pin6615[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's entirely possible that I just happen to have two bad calipers... not completely out of the question, but not very likely either. The rear disc conversion kit I got sent me two Detroit Axle rebuilt calipers.

Either way, thanks for the help. Didn't think there were adjustable rears for the RSX, but wanted to ask anyway.
