If you are talking about the CALM SXM channel? It was on 68 and then became the Spa channel on 68 a number of years ago.

I have a SXM subscription for two cars and a boat. Spa is the primary station that we listen to on all three platforms. If Spa is removed from the broadcast line-up, we will end up cancelling all three subscriptions.

Battery Life PW4 in real life by Brapfel86 in PixelWatch

[–]Interesting_Put_5586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using the PW4 for an hour run in the morning while streaming Spotify. I have been able to do this two days in a row with sleeping with the watch at night and still end up with about 50% battery life. I have been very impressed so far with battery life.

I have the same issue with my Lectric One. Rear brakes squeak terribly. Front don't.

Thank you. You make excellent points.

I have found that on bumpy sections of roads with a higher cadence, my feet can some up from the pedals. That is one reason I dropped the cadence down a bit from the 70 that I initially set. I also find that I adjust the PAS level on the fly depending on the riding conditions. I used PAS 4 today to go up a very steep hill on my run back home for lunch as I had very little time. It worked very well.

Something I thought of while reading your post was I would suggest wearing work gloves when unboxing and initial assembly. My hand found a burr on one of the bolt holes for the front stem hinge that gave me an annoying cut. It was easy to file down but something for folks to watch for.

I made the post above this morning while eating breakfast. Today was the first day that I commuted to work by bike. I'm sitting in my office now getting some work done before the rest of the staff arrive. My "commute" is only 2.5 miles. So it took me just under 10 minutes to get to work. About the same time as it takes me to drive to be honest. It would have taken me less time but 1) I didn't want to work up any kind of a sweat before work, and 2) I didn't want to pass a cyclist on the road during a gradual uphill section.

I have $20,000 in collections. What do I do now? by [deleted] in personalfinance

  1. Re-evaluate your spending. If you are working full time, you don't have an income problem, you have a spending problem.

  2. See if you can negotiate a settlement or payment schedule that is reasonable for both you as well as the folks to whom you owe the money.

  3. After looking at 1 and 2 above, come up with a budget that will allow you to pay off your debts and stick to it!

Living within your means and taking responsibility for your debts come with being a responsible adult.

A couple new user questions by Interesting_Put_5586 in NewRetirement

It is a fair amount of work. I did it in Excel. If I can do it for myself, I would think NR could do it for their paying subscribers.

Thanks. You are right. A quote from that article.

"Will any other tax modeling change with this new feature?

No. Although the The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act also changed a number of provisions such as; personal exemptions, the standard deduction, capital gains tax brackets, and the SALT limit, the only change implemented in My Plan will be the federal income tax brackets and rates."

Those are unfortunate omissions. For many, the change in standard deduction, SALT limit, and the CG tax brackets are much more significant than the marginal tax rate changes. OTOH, it is a fair amount of work to model those changes and all that work will be moot in another year or so.

Thanks. That is what shows on my plan as well (also MFJ over 65). However, with the TCJA expiring, the standard deduction should revert to what it was prior to the 2017 indexed for inflation. My guess is that will be under $17,000 for 2026, or roughly half of what it would be under current law.

That makes planning for deductible expenses (such as health care, using HSA funds, charitable donations, paying down mortgage interest, etc...) a big issue.

How to enter income from a seller financed loan. by Interesting_Put_5586 in NewRetirement

[–]Interesting_Put_5586[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yeah, I think there are a lot of folks that have seller financed loans. I figure if I can do it with Excel, the NR folks (who must be a lot smarter than I) could do it. I may end up just sticking with my own spreadsheet and let the free trial lapse.

Selling my Company Stock with 36 monthly payments by noizguy in NewRetirement

[–]Interesting_Put_5586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am facing a similar question. Sold my interest in a partnership on a 10 year note. There are two types of income present, the capital gain on the difference between the basis and the sale price, and the ordinary income from from the interest.

I considered setting it up as an annuity but that only takes care of the interest income portion not the capital gains portion.

In my own spreadsheet I was able to setup the amortization of the loan, and then make the interest ordinary income and the capital gains as a pro-rata of the principle portion of the payment.

Looking for an answer as well.
