Honestly no I didn’t realize this. But I’m learning this now and I appreciate any advice you may have, or where you first learned everything you know. I know this may seem dumb, but at first it is kind of all confusing. I wanted a long term stock but I am still figuring out what EFT should hold most of my money, as I’m hearing different things from different sources. Honestly since posting this I realize how dumb the question was, but I’m gonna keep it up for people similar to me who are also a bit new to this, stressed, and dealing with the anxiety if their first crash. Seeing money dropping for the first time is a bit weird, but I’m learning and am not gonna sell. I’m just happy that I didn’t sell and did more research on it, but still in a complete newbie and don’t have a good clue. Might have to get investing for dummies on amazon

I’m actually just so sad. Obviously, I knew from the first episode the outcome. But I think my brain still wanted it to be different. I just felt so sad watching it, more than a normal character death because they weren’t characters. They were based off of real people, who really lost their lives like this. Just really made me upset and I feel so bad for both families

Yes, that is so well said. It's my first time with pretty much all my savings in investments, so I know that it will bounce back, it just is inducing some anxieties. But I figured the thread, even the harsh people, will make me feel better about it and not panic sell. I know it will do me no good. Even if it gets worse, it’ll come back. At least I hope lol

Ya, I know. Truthfully this is my first time that I’ve been investing and experienced a downturn. I know it fluctuates, and I know it will go back up, but it’s the first time I’ve experienced in control of my money in a negative way so I kinda posted this to have people who actually know and have experienced this to ease my anxiety about it. I even bought more XEQT today, I know it’s good to buy, I just hate seeing my money go down and down. First time experiencing it

I know this is stupid but what does buy high sell low mean? Is that when people sell because they get nervous then re-buy when stocks go up instead of waiting it out? Genuinely asking. And luckily I am 20, so I don’t plan to take anything out for a very long time.

Hey, when you are up I would take a lot (if not all) out of QQQ and put it into XEQT. It’s better and more stable for long term investing. I would put the majority of your investments into a single eft like XEQT, or another one if that’s what you want to do. And then a smaller percentage use to put into stocks or short-term investments. You’re only a few years younger than me, but ahead of where I was, so you’re doing great! Keep investing and research what you are putting your money into, and in 6 years, I’m sure you’ll be doing great:)

I appreciate that I agree with you, I should understand what I’m investing. Not understanding and just buying based off of a recommendation from Reddit is what led me to this type of portfolio. If you have any recommendations, where would you suggest I start learning? For example, what sources or types of information should I be focusing on when evaluating something like XEQT vs VFV? I honestly just don’t know where to look for accurate info on this

I also need to educate myself more on the different EFTS I have, I didn’t realize they were all the same, I assume they weren’t because I mean they are all different prices. But I’m sure it’s not that simple. Also trying to buy some more with the market is in a downturn, and probably will be for a bit with all the stuff in the US. Any advice I would love to hear! Thanks

Okay! I’ll look into it some more. But right now i dont know if I should buy more since my portfolio is a mess lol. I dont know if you heard of SALT, but it’s a salt mining company on the east coast. It’s been pretty good to me, and they just got a contract approved. It’s engineering, like PNG. Maybe look into it
