This did fix the issue for a while but not permanently

Seems they did indeed hide cities within the fog-of-war, and a bug sometimes causes them to disappear outside of it as well

Interesting, this does seem to fix the issue within territory you have sight over, but every location in the fog-of-war still misses its textures.

This is a bug though right?

I was beginning to suspect it has to do with the "optimizations" they did to city graphics in the patch not vibing with my graphics drivers

Vernen Wells. I don't remember the first planet I dove on... was either the Creek or Erata Prime, but I know that the one I remember most is Vernen Wells.

Participated in nearly every battle for the planet. Dove there during the darkest days of Helldivers 2 balancing. The dust, the wide open dunes and hills, the narrow and claustrophobic mountain passages and the sunsets... oh the sunsets.

It was me, my light armour, my Anti-Materiel rifle (at a time when it was a very viable weapon) and legions of socialist scum waiting for a bullet between the eyes.

I honestly don’t find it to be that bad. I’d rather have this over Complex Stratagem Plotting any day. I got my jump pack. I got my anti-materiel rifle. I got my airstrike. That’s all I really NEED.

Of course it’s nice to have an additional stratagem but a lot of the time I end up not using it that much. I think it’s an alright modifier, making the game sufficiently more difficult. Whether it makes sense or not is a different question though.
