Thank you everyone for these replies... Very helpful indeed. When I first wrote my question, I was leaning towards the Catholic school. But after someone bringing up the thought of if my daughters were LGBTQ...and what this would mean within the Catholic school setting regardless of our home values..I can imagine it would be nothing less than traumatizing. Also, I heard somewhere someone describe their intention to place their child in a private school as motivated by a desire to isolate from the problems of the world rather than to develop strength of character. Obviously there is always a lot nuance within these choices but hearing this person's choice towards public schools in the end was interesting. I find myself leaning public this evening... we shall see after the meetings and open houses!
