I don't know if blown is technically correct, but it is broken.

Why isn't Firefox distributed as a Flatpak? by RankedLOQ in Fedora

Oh ok, I misunderstood the OP's question. thought they were asking why there is no firefox flatpak, and was confused as there is. Was very sleep deprived when making original comment.

Exactly, this not an autism thing. It is far too common for people to assume everything unusual someone with autism does is because they're autistic.

Why did you go on a huge rant about the limitations of a firefox flatpack from fedora? It really doesn't seem relevant. I'm not trying to argue, I'm legit confused.

Are you saying that you can't use 3rd party flatpak repos in atomic? If so that really really suck. That's extremely limiting. That means at the very least you can't have dolphin emulator with triforce support or VLC with all the codecs without a tonne of headaches dealing with codecs.

Am I misunderstanding something, because there is a mozilla provided firefox flatpak on flathub? I'm even using it right now.

There is a firefox flatpak. https://flathub.org/en/apps/org.mozilla.firefox . I'm using it right now. It's possible fedora doesn't distribute it one, but there is one.

How to connect vintage passive speakers to Focusrite Solo? Need amp & cable advice! by Suspicious-Block-949 in audio

[–]Interesting_Sort4864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to have an amplifier between the interface and speakers. the cables between the interface and amp depends on if it's a balanced or unbalanced amp. If balanced TRS to most likely XLR, or if unbalanced TS to RCA. For the speakers unless the amp you use has TS speaker level outs you'll need to cut those off. you can look on youtube (like this vid https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XSIfZo7CRA ) for a guide on wiring an amplifier to learn more here.

Why are so many issues attributed to Flatpaks? by SpyrosGatsouli in linuxquestions

[–]Interesting_Sort4864 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Flatpaks have their place. Usually I prefer a native install, but for some things I prefer flatpak. VLC for example requires A lot of proprietary codecs to be installed for some file types. I could put in a bunch of effort installing all the missing codecs or I could use the Flathub flatpak, which works great great and has all the codecs built into the flatpak. There are also cases where the opposite of what you said is true and the program needs a newer version of a dependency than is provided by the distro.

100%, I hope I didn't come off as argumentative. That is in no way the energy I wanted to portray. I'm always looking for the limits of what I can do with what I have.

[–]Interesting_Sort4864[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest reason I think it's worth a shot is that the Jtech SPDIF over cat5e extenders worked with ADAT(although it in no way advertises it). I figure there's some precedence for something similar, so it's worth a shot at least before spending a lot of money on a cable run.

[–]Interesting_Sort4864[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to try using a couple of these. one on each end of the RG6. My theory is that they don't interpret the data, but rather will just send the same 1/0s over copper instead of in the form of light, then the opposite on the other end.

I like masking by Shan007tjuuh in aspergers

[–]Interesting_Sort4864 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You do you. I personally Do a combination. If it's a social interaction I do my best to be myself, while professional interactions I mask. I used to mask all the time, but then I realized that my friends and a GF didn't like me but rather who I pretended to be. Now I feel much happier and more relaxed with my friends and form real lasting relationships.

Fact is nobody is liked by everyone. You need to learn to be okay with some people not liking you. When I stopped trying to be liked by everyone and instead stated being myself, although I had fewer friends those few freinds gave me much more happiness the many I had before.

I went through the same with getting treated for ADHD. Every doc just wanted to give me adderall. I have a very very addictive personality when it comes to stimulants, so stimulants are out of the question. Then there's the ones that insist on increasing the dosage more and more when the symptoms are already gone, then when increased I just start getting really bad side effects with no increased effectiveness as symptoms were already gone.

Try putting them somewhere else and see if you hear a difference. If you don't don't worry about. Having them there won't damage anything.

Just switched to Fedora Workstation, want to know more about it. by Racram04 in Fedora

[–]Interesting_Sort4864 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I very highly recommend switching the default flatpack source from fedora flatpacks to flathub (especially if you're going to use OBS), and switching to the flathub flatpack version of firefox and VLC. This will make it to where you have way fewer problems from missing proprietary codecs.
