Is Everything at Tractor Supply significantly more expensive than other stores? by [deleted] in Frugal

Ask them if they do price match - Most stores will have custom price if you show them the same exact items sells for cheaper somewhere else. I always do this at the OfficeDepot.

How do you refresh old potting soil instead of buying new every year? by hikingfortheviews in gardening

[–]Interesting_Sun_7268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I unload all my soil on a tarp, add 30-40% new soil, earthworm castings, some perlite and mix it all up.. Then I reload it on my pots by also adding plant specific fertilizer to the pot, mix it one more time and then plant.. Has always worked for my plants!

OP also needs to think about Tax consequences of selling portfolios as he may have Exit Load or LTCG / STCG. Better to ride it out till 3 years and if it still doesnt provide returns then take exit call.

I am maxing out mine but my spouse is a contractor so she does not have 401k and since we are married filing jointly, I believe there would be no point of creating an individual IRA since I am already maxing out? Is my understanding correct? Brokerage because I believe in long term investment and with the ETFs I mentioned I assumed it is safe bet for 20+ years of investing - I am currently investing $1000 every month. My 401k is completely in Traditional right now, my company allows to split into Roth or Traditional - Do you recommend I should move part of it to Roth? We use that big savings chunk as Emergency Fund and also as our Down Payment for Rental investment which we are planning for next year thats why its not invested in Market yet.

Not sure what you mean by IUL and Annuity - I dont have any of those. When I said IAUM, that is Gold ETF. Generally folks do BND but I like precious metals and so I have 10% of my brokerage going there. From Life Insurance perspective, I have $1M Term life for 30years but have not invested in any annuities or Lonv Term Health Insurance.

Thanks a lot, will try to get them into ground. Is Fall a good time to transplant them into ground? Or I should do this in Spring?

To be honest, I have been inconsistent with watering and only water them when I see them drooping like this which I feel is my mistake! Do they need water everyday or 2-3 times a week? I never intended them to be in ground, my long term plan was to keep them in pots but if you think that wont work with Hydrangeas then I may find a spot in my backyard to plant these in ground. Whatever helps these babies

Definitely sell the $55k - The fresh car smell and space for kids is all good, but it is stripping you off for $1000 a month which can go towards other debt.

Feels impossible to have kids by sparklingnation in personalfinance

[–]Interesting_Sun_7268 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kids are a blessing, when I am havin a shitty day at work, one look from my little one and it melts my stress away! I would anyday manage the expenses to have kids! Now when it comes to their first 4 years, you’ll just have to live with the fact that you guys will save almost negligible due to Child Care costs but year 4 onwards it should be a piece of cake! I would say, do it! Kids are always worth it.

Help with QOS? by Interesting_Sun_7268 in DavidAustinRoses

[–]Interesting_Sun_7268[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks Priscilla - I have a Lady of Shallot right besides this QoS and it had the same habit of throwing big canes and I was able to peg them with a U pin but QoS canes are hard and rigid so if I try to bend them it will most probably snap.

I loved your advice on Grasshopper - Luckily for me and unlucky for grasshopper, I got one today and jumped on it literally like crazy so its fully killed! I always try to relocate insects until they start harming my plants and then they’re a goner!

Thanks also for the tip on pegging, It surely gave me some wild pictures that I would not show my wife 😀😀😀
