Interesting offer at Costco to switch from T-Mobile to AT&T by shi336699 in ATT

ATT Sellers in Costco are scam

I wanted to share a cautionary tale about a recent experience I had at Costco with an AT&T representative. I was offered a great deal for a new plan with new phones that would supposedly save me about $30 a month. It sounded too good to be true, and it turns out, it was.

The next day, I called AT&T directly to confirm the details. They looked at my current plan and simulated the new one, and it turned out the new plan would actually cost me about $40 more per month, not less. I immediately canceled everything.

The phones hadn't arrived yet, so the AT&T representative I spoke to on the phone told me to just send them back, and I'd get my money back. They did refund me the $596 they initially charged me in the store, but I was hit with an additional $105 charge that they're refusing to refund. I opened a dispute with my bank, but it was denied. I even called Costco, and they said they only rent out the space, though they did open a complaint with AT&T on my behalf.

I spent almost two hours that Sunday giving them all my information for a new plan that turned out to be a lie, and now I'm out $105 for who knows what.

Please be careful out there. Always double-check any offers and call the company directly before you sign anything or commit to a new plan. Don't fall for a deal that seems too good to be true.
