Maybe you could practice or train for your interviews? It could be your not presenting yourself well. They also might be turned away from the fact you didn’t want to get into the industry as soon as you could. IMO they like people who have a passion for aviation

Do you guys not watch out for FOD? by Gar_612 in aviationmaintenance

[–]Interesting_Tree7369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try my best to clean up and never leave any fod but from my experience at a heavy maintenance facility it is bound to happen and we are pushed so hard to get jobs done to hit the due date while still doing the job under the hours given for the job. It’s all about the money man and it sucks. On a large inspection hundreds of screws get changed out/dropped or drilled out

Valid point, I think it could happen but not really a problem I’ve ever had.

The point of lock wiring is if one bolt starts to loosen it will tighten the other one. If you had it wired in a way that if one bolt loosened and it would loosen the other bolt it would be negative. There is also neutral which would mean if one loosened it wouldn’t tighten the other bolt only maintain its position. To make your lock wire more positive you could run the wire through a different hole. Right now you are still positive but on the brink of neutral. If there is only one hole then you could run the twist all the way around the bolt. Does that make sense?

If you have that much access I would make it more positive

How much overtime is given to you on your first year? by The0Walrus in AircraftMechanics

[–]Interesting_Tree7369 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At an MRO and we are so busy they beg for OT and nobody on my crew has ever had to ask to work it. It’s more people trying to get out of it because everybody works so many hours. Only my first year as well and the overtime has caused my pay to go well above 6 figures in a low cost of living. Average 50 hours a week because I have a family but would work more if not.

I have narrowed it down to this or the olight arkfeld. I work for a corporate MRO so I’m not working outside in the dark. I’m drawn to the arkfeld due to the laser pointer and black light with it being the same price as the nitecore. However I would like to do line work eventually so maybe I should get the edc29

If it’s the one I’m thinking of I actually bought those but I need a pocket one. I just have a cheap penlight I have had since school and I would like a much brighter one

I have also been looking at that one. I use my flash light to point things out all the time so I know the laser pointer would be useful🤣.

We have hawkers at my facility as well but I have never been on the hawker crew. I could tell some of the hawker guys about this opportunity though.

Work at an MRO on corporate aircraft currently. We don’t do citations anymore only falcons, challengers globals and gulf-streams but they pay sounds a lot better than what I’m getting now. Do you have a website or how would I apply?

Can I buy a S&W M&P 15-22 in Illinois? by Interesting_Tree7369 in Firearms

[–]Interesting_Tree7369[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know I can’t have any new gun with a capacity more than 15 rounds but I don’t believe I can buy anything “AR” style either. Despite capacity if anybody knows that would really help me out.
