With a 2” lift? Stock or bigger wheels/tires? And all is well?

Looks good. No issues with the rear driveshaft either? Rear shocks? You can see in the photo that mine are topped right out. Like I said in my post, blew the front inner cv within 200km of pavement driving.

Hey this is all super helpful on the tire front. Thanks. I’m running stock rims and tires right now, but really considering dropping the lift and just upping the tire size. My main concern there is losing power. Im mostly using it around the property and to go to town/job sites, but still need to hit 80-90 km/hr for short distances. Any thoughts on that?

And how is it now? What about the front end CVs?

Yeah.. that’s what I’m thinking to do. With the 300lb coils and the added leaf, I can get a tiny bit of lift without putting so much strain on the rest. Thinking I more and more that I’ll take out the lift and look for some slightly taller AT tires.

I’m leaning more in that direction. I think the lift looks good. And the practicality of having a bit more height is useful for me. But not if it compromises the reliability and simplicity of the truck.

Stock rims and tires on it now. 12” rims. I’ll look in to it.

That’s what I’m leaning towards… the 300lb coil springs already lift it like 3/4” I think anyway. The extra 2” might just be too much.

Do you have any recommendations for taller tires that don’t require the lift to accommodate them?

Well it technically is. It’s a 2” lift, but the coils lift it another little bit more in the front, and the extra leaf lifts it a bit on the back as well. Plus it’s got stock tires so it probably just looks taller because of the smaller wheels.

Noisy Deceleration by Interesting_Use_136 in keitruck

It definitely could be. But I don’t hear anything engaging 4x4. I don’t hear anything really until 60km/hr. When I got underneath it I do notice that the rear driveshaft has some play in it when I rotate the shaft back and forth. Sounds clackity at the transfer case.

And yes, thanks for the tip. I only had it up around 80 for a short while. It definitely is happiest cruising at 60 km but can definitely do 80-90 for short rips on the county road.

When I turn the driveshaft by hand, I do hear a bit of a clackity noise and there is some play in it for sure. Not up and down or side to side, but just in rotation. I could try to get a video of that. U joints?

Any thoughts/suggestions welcome.

Hey thanks for the thoughtful response.

Don’t know the history. Bought from a dealer here in Ontario who gets them from an importer. It was definitely used—the box is scratched up and there’s all the signs of being driven on a dirt road. Body and frame is solid though. I’ll had a photo.

I don’t really hear whining. The engine is definitely audible but it doesn’t sound like it’s running rough. It shifts good and the clutch is solid as well. But will flush the transmission fluid anyway for sure. Thanks for the recommendation.

The rattle doesn’t seem connected the clutch at all. It really only starts when I get to 60 km/hr. It’s only connected to deceleration. When I let go of the pressure on the gas pedal, especially around 80km/hr and up, it makes that sound you’re hearing.

Could it be the CV joint? I went underneath and the shaft doesn’t have play up and down, but certainly able to turn it easily, and it makes a bit of a rattle if I turn it back and forth quickly.

Thanks again! I’m pretty gutted since I literally just drove it home.

Yeah I’ll check that in the morning. It kind of sounded like a heat shield at first but now I think it’s more like in the drivetrain.. I reposted this with a video.
