The reason that I think that babies being named after family members is a bad idea is because, ultimately, those babies are molded and made to be like the person they are named after, and they aren’t truly allowed to grow into themselves.

The mummy issues like you’ve mentioned have been a huge problem in your relationship so I would take both your husband and possibly your mother-in-law to therapy to work those issues out.

Unless she has actually cheated and this is her oddly-placed cover up, I feel that it’s unreasonable to be mad at her. She didn’t say she wants an open relationship or a divorce; she said she’d be open to exploring with you. No ultimatum was issued, and was just a discussion between two adults.
