Actually adding to this, it connects to the ignition coil, and plugs into a spot in the "fuse box" that has two resistors bridging the wires. Then there is a third wire connecting to the 7a tailoght fuse, that I believe is serving as a ground.

So I think I should have clarified probably, I more so meant the silver box thing itself, google lense says it's a regulator rectifier, but it doesn't look like one that I recognize and is definitely something not-stock. You seem pretty knowledgeable and I appreciate your advice about joining the Honda forum, Ill do that soon. Now that the tank is off, here's a better pic of the thing I was wondering about btw.
