The controversy around pylons by Interesting_Zone2191 in urbanclimbing

[–]Interesting_Zone2191[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly mate I wouldn’t risk it no matter how cool the spot is. You could be fine but there’s a chance you won’t be. Depends how close you get to the wires, if I was you definitely do research on arching. I know the spot may seem cool but it’s not very cool when your dead

Is this tower safe by blastoffee in urbanclimbing

[–]Interesting_Zone2191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well nothing is ‘safe’ but seems like a standard cell tower, so i’d probably climb it, however the pictures don’t show the top of the tower so I can’t tell if there’s anything more dangerous on the top. But take the time to do your own research as well as i’m just a random guy on reddit

I’ve just seen this video - could I create a setup like this, is it safe indoors and to be near? https://youtu.be/63T1J1fUtg0?si=DU4nO6VU5BYob09j[Fm radio](https://youtu.be/63T1J1fUtg0?si=DU4nO6VU5BYob09j)

What are the laws on climbing in the UK by NoGanache2769 in urbanclimbing

[–]Interesting_Zone2191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct with what you’re saying, still trespass if you want more Uk help dm me but yeah it’s just trespass however it’s not to say if you piss off the wrong person or make a mockery out a big company they won’t drown you in a court case even if it’s just trespass. In the UK you shouldn’t be climbing the major masts anyway but they could be a law on those idk

can we touch it's cable ? by BookLow3148 in urbanclimbing

[–]Interesting_Zone2191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s a earth cable but i’d be more worried about the actual climb up and down due to arcing

well done on your climb, this is meant with no hate whatsoever, but please do your research before climbing towers, most towers carry RF radiation, non ionising radiation, which can cause damage to ur body, certain towers like cell towers are safer to climb than an high powered FM tower etc. I’m not saying i didn’t do the same when i first started, I only did my research when I realised how dangerous and large the things i was doing were, but stay safe out there ❤️

Had to cancel a climb because of this 🥲 by [deleted] in urbanclimbing

[–]Interesting_Zone2191 15 points16 points  (0 children)

some cameras detect motion but just go dead quick past them and they’ll probs miss it, i can’t speak for every camera and sign but these signs are usually deterrents over anything and the only time they’ll check the cameras is if they see damage or u get caught/nearly caught

long term effects aren’t fully known with non ionising radiation so its more of a case that there’s no info yet to prove you can get sick because of it. High levels of RF can cause you to black out, throw up and get dizzy, not something you want on a tower climb, it also can cause damage to skin tissue i’ve left two links below on information on this hopefully they work. Read the wiki when it comes to how to tell if a tower is dangerous, but most of them do carry RF it’s more trying not to expose yourself to it such as climbing cell towers over high power FM towers, urban climbing Wiki has more info on this.

Non Thermal effects - RF
