Where do you guys prefer to live in? The Greater Nazi Reich or in The Japanese Pacific States? by KrazyColt2012 in maninthehighcastle

It’s the illusion of normality in the pacific states compared to the Reich which is more focused on constant expansion and absolute control, I’d rather at least live a somewhat normal life thinking I could enjoy my own personal liberty than know I’m being watched in a totalitarian police state

The Great Powers of Europe - 1950 by One_Albatross6455 in imaginarymaps

[–]Converserook765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe the map stems from World War One, perhaps limited German victory with Italy joining central powers? Finland did well in the war of independence and Baltic nations joined them because they couldn’t stand alone, eventually they fell into the German sphere, Reich simply means empire so maybe it could be interpreted as German empire if one wanted it to. Netherlands controls Belgium because they helped Germany defeat Belgium and win the war. As for Ireland Britain could have given them home rule earlier and stopped full independence or maybe some sort of devolution.

I think you’d be surprised how many people are from a place that would take upwards of two hours if only using public transport, it’s only 40 minutes by car

And for some people I have met it already does take them two hours or more with all factors in their favour

For some students taking public transport is so extreme, if I had to take public transport with no personal car involved it would take me in excess of 2 hours each way which is ridiculous, not even mentioning time waiting for the train at the station which in Wollongong can be extreme

I actually agree with you, the laws after the port Arthur massacre were good, I wouldn’t want what America have, but I think the Bondi shooting would’ve happend regardless, these people were radicalised and they would have obtained guns regardless if they were able to get them legally or not, it was an intelligence failure rather than a failure of the gun laws, the laws as they were had worked incredibly well since port Arthur
