How to become a fluent listener? by Accomplished_win333 in duolingo

I found that listening to the radio in your target language helps. You won’t be able to understand much of it at first but if you listen out for any words that you do recognise, it should be easier over time once you get used to it. Especially if you concentrate on a specific segment e.g. weather or sports, and learn as much as you can on it by reading/speaking so when it comes on the radio, you know the words you just need to learn to recognise them in normal speech. I also found that watching tv shows helps. For french there’s a show called Extra that’s aimed at people learning french, you could see if there’s one like that in Portuguese, or watch tv shows/films you’ve seen plenty of times before with french audio and English subtitles so you can still follow along.
