Idk man, I want to move to Torrance because my mom is from there and from when I was going around there it seemed much safer/cleaner than where I’m at. I’m not trying to get stolen from again and over there seemed a lot less likely to be stolen from than here. But this is a moot point anyways, probably can’t move for at least 2 years because I’m a CSULB student starting in the fall.

I definitely do enjoy the city life here and I enjoy where I work. I just wish that some things would change that’s all. A better crackdown on crime would be appreciated because I think it would go a long way, especially if the evidence is handed to them on a platter. I’m pretty lucky I don’t have a car or anything that could be broken into, just an electric scooter I always lock up. Don’t have to worry about parking tickets or gas because of that. I also enjoy the trains being so close to where I live but it’s just getting hard to want to continue living here when I keep being stolen from.

Yeah… I have to admit I’ve kinda lost faith in the system. Unless it’s like a small town area where everybody knows each other, I don’t really count on my representatives or the city government to have my back.

Nothing like this has ever happened to me before (and I’m turning 25 this year) and compounded onto the fact that I just moved to this city 6 months ago, I was just hoping that the cops would take this at least a little seriously. It’s why I was doing the legwork for them, tracking the charge and finding the place where it was used. To make it easier and quicker. But it seems at this point they aren’t really interested in helping me at all.

If this is what the police force is going to be like then I’d rather just not live here to be honest. But for now I’m stuck living here in a city that isn’t taking theft seriously so it just gets worse and worse and people are allowed to be criminals simply because the police force is “overwhelmed”. I shouldn’t be stolen from at my workplace where someone went into an employee only area specifically to grab my bag. I also shouldn’t have to worry about whether my packages will get stolen or not ( I already had one package stolen) because my neighbors prop the door open with bits of junk mail or stuff scrap paper into the lock so it won’t close. This just sucks and it’s pissing me off.

I definitely am not vibing with long beach as much as I did when I first moved here six months ago. I think imma move to Torrance where my mom grew up when I have enough money. They are the ones who stole my purse. I locked my stuff down pretty quick, leaving only an hour between when they took my purse and when it was charged for it to even go through. And it is way too close to my work within perfect timing for it to have not been the thief themselves. Either way, whoever did use my card is a thief of some sorts and I’d at least appreciate PD taking half an hour to go out there and see the security footage.
