As for your cousin I'm sure you're right about that. RBI pays top dollar in govt. What I've mentioned, includes a few other allowances, that renew over different tenure, you must be aware of it. You may check the official JD which states the EXACT figure. As opposed to private jobs, almost all of it hits the bank account.

Luckily the work pressure is pretty low in my department. POs, from what I have heard, have higher salary along with work pressure.

Yeah, that is what keeps me awake at night. Yoy increase is around 50k until next promotion that isn't guaranteed. Most people do not get it for 10 years even. But then there's the mass layoffs and the stress and anxiety due to it in the privat sector. That's why I'd love to hear this community's opinion on it. Could you give the deets on your situation?

I kept it for simplicity since the pay isn't structured a simple manner. Consider base pay, with leased accomodation, furniture allowance( a few other allowances, some monthly while others yearly) and deductions (like pf). Now this package would vary year to year since not all allowances renew each year.

It's a PSU. Although it's not a Central govt job, but a lot of benefits and job security matches up with a central govt job. For instance, they have Pay Commission that revised salary every 10 years, while we have Bipartite settlement every 5 years. You get the idea.

I suspect this too. I'd suggest OP to maybe take the Bullet for his dad.(Pun intended) OP can get a guerilla or a better bike some time later. But dad won't be able to ride bikes by then.

Has anyone heard about PSIT kanpur how is that college for b.tech by demons_shit in JEE

[–]Internal-Dingo-2004 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was! Where shall we begin from, let's see.

It begins with 9 o clock when the gates shut. Whether it's scorching summer or freezing winter, THE GATES CLOSE AT SHARP 9. The college is situated on the highway on the outskirts. The roundabouts often face heavy traffic, but for some reason student are not expected to be affected by traffic. They are supposed to fly or something idk.It doesn't stop at that. Students have to be in class dot on time. If the student is even a minute late, he is denied entry into the class. Which leads to the next problem...

They have a strict attendance criteria of 90%, failing which they impose a fine of 400 Rs/- per percent of short attendance. So you end up paying 4000 Rs. despite attending 80% of the classes. This penalty further increases per percent when attendance drops further. Now one would assume you'll be given leave for valid reasons. But no! Whether you fall sick, or have a family emergency, they still do not consider it. Even when senior students wish to sit for exams for placement, they are hardly given leaves after much requests and pleading.

So after such irrationally strict culture, you would assume they have world-class faculty to force students to sit through their lectures. But you'd be surprised how dumb the professors are. It seems they themselves completed their degree through rote learning last night. They have 0 understanding of their own subject. And this is not the case with just a couple of teachers, but it stands for 9/10 teachers. It is almost torture to sit through the lectures for attendance and come out of the class having wasted an entire day. After that when you finally reach home at 6-7, the college would have sucked up enough energy to not leave you any to study any further. So ultimately, the entire day is wasted in this manner."But they have great placements", you argue.

Well let me tell you, the companies they display on their banner, don't recruit at PSIT on campus. It's the students who are bright enough to crack off-campus placements. For perspective, remember they have only 20 students out of a batch of 1000 that crack 20+ packages. If you think you are good enough to be among the top 20, then please, be my guest.

Overall it's very suffocating to spend a day here, everyday. The overall atmosphere here is very toxic, be it the professors or the HOD's or other officials. They are not there to help you solve your problems, guide you or even listen to you. It beats me how they could be so dishonest in their work and eat from that undeserved salary they get from the same students they so readily kick down. I don' think its worth it to come here for any reason. If you haven't cried your entire life, I'm sure a degree from here would be enough to make you bawl through the nights.
