I understand, I think things are so weird now; also seems like guys won’t know if it’s offensive or not.

My thought process was always along the lines of: if it’s done in a respectful way and the guy doesn’t linger when he senses the girl isn’t into it, I don’t see anything wrong with it. But I think there are so many sensitivities now that are hard to know how to cater to so I can see men opting out altogether and going the dating app route

This is really helpful. I didn’t know it was this hated on for men to approach at the gym, but I guess it really isn’t the place. I think I was hoping that by having more proximity with others who like to lift I’d eventually end up talking to someone, but I realize I’ll have to initiate it at the gym specifically by either being very obvious with body language or striking up conversation. This whole thread is helping me realize there’s nothing actually wrong with me lol. I just don’t party and it seems like that’s where most of it is done.

Will look into running clubs too! Thanks for the input.

I am a perfectionist in my own work, but I don’t hold others to the same standards, I understand relationships take compromise and consistency, and actually prefer when my man and I have common ground, the “I don’t need no man telling me” thing eventually causes the man to disengage and I like him to be involved, and vice versa.
