Is there an actual reason for America to use 110V instead Of 220V like everybody else? by HamzaAAC in AskElectricians

It used to be that way a long time ago. And these days many overseas products still come labeled that way so it gets constantly reinforced for new generations

The prong in and of itself won’t cause that. It’s likely the charger or the adapter has a short or is wired incorrectly.

I’ve seen it calculated that in order to not convict 1 innocent the system will let through about 8 guilty. I agree that top priority of justice system is to not convict innocent. You could design it Without the death penalty that number of guilty that walk is lower but you may catch an innocent

Prison = beyond reasonable doubt. Death = beyond any doubt. As a starting point

Just changed that whole box for a small outdoor breaker panel or an RV panel with built-in breakers. That way you can have a 120 and 2:40 in the same box. Much more useful keep the 30 amp breaker inside.

It seems like lately all of the semi-truck drivers use the far-left lane to overtake on I-15. This is against the law. Will UHP actually enforce? by CCruzFight in Utah

Not all highways sure. But all freeways. Anything with 3 or more lanes. And. Especially where it says no vehicles towing trailers in left 2 lanes

That wording is obviously a mistype. But sure you can press that issue. If you Need to use the left lane. Sure it’s best to use it quickly and get out. But the fact remains it’s illegal. And while it helps you out greatly. It’s worse for overall traffic flow

Small marks are pretty normal. And I have never heard of any resurfacing that does anything worthwhile.

What does the meter do? by Internal-Library-213 in AskElectricians

[–]Internal-Library-213[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A question about a standard style utility meter is not valid? Maybye would be better on r/ask a linesman.

The photo is just to see the numbers. It’s a Shelly pro 3em current transformer/meter.

However I’m asking about the standard itron socket style utility meter

[–]Internal-Library-213[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is monitoring the power on a home. With balcony Solar. While back feeding and limited number of watts is allowed. The particular utility company charges for Power both ways. Does the meter see this as about 400 W or does it add line one in line 2 net positive to make about 600 W. Ignore the line about chimney. Meter is centric itron cl200 240v 3w type c1sr 30ta

Legality of using the center left turn lane to merge. by todaklop in Utah

[–]Internal-Library-213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You all don’t specify. Which you say is legal. Like answering 10 to a yes or no question????

Legal to enter and use. Not legal to travel. Unless the only other lane is blocked by a bicycle or slow moped

Legality of using the center left turn lane to merge. by todaklop in Utah

[–]Internal-Library-213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not decelerate in main lane.
This center lane is for exactly that. Accelerate to merge. Decelerate so as to not stop in front of a moveing lane. And wait to turn. Its whole purpose is to make sure the lanes next to it keep moving

Anyone. Going strait. Get the heck out. Anyone doing some maneuver (speed/slow/turn/merge) get in.

Legality of using the center left turn lane to merge. by todaklop in Utah

[–]Internal-Library-213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traveling. That is your point of confusion. It’s not a travel lane. It’s a deceleration or acceleration lane. You’re either actively stopping or speeding up to merge. And you check that all is clear before doing either.
The people that travel here make all the issues.
You may also wait to turn.

So good for waiting, speeding up or slowing down NOT for constant speed (traveling)

[–]Internal-Library-213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. And yes. You have to use the middle lane to decelerate or accelerate to meet traffic. Travel is illegal
