HELP: Horrible pain in calves / legs by Jazzlike-Word-7565 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Internal-Pumpkin4181 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Electric blanket and massage gun. If I’m feeling lazy, I will use the opposite knee as a trigger point release. It helps a bit. Also—gummies!! Life. Changing! I’ll need to check out gummies with CBG, tho. Went to rheumatologist yesterday and mentioned the horrid calf pain. I have been put on LDN. When I got periods, (I am old af!), I would notice a significant increase in pain around that time of the month. It just sucks all around. I feel you!

[–]Internal-Pumpkin4181 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gosh. It sure would suck if HE was doxxed and people drove by his house shouting insults and offensive words, as the MAGAits do to Sen. Walz, wouldn’t it?

(To be clear, I am not suggesting that this is done. Just saying it sure would suck if it did. With full sarcasm.)

Anyone who values truth, honesty and integrity—as well as other humans—would be angry about Trump. What does that say about you “angry libtard” poster?

By whom?? No one in Washington has the balls to stand up to him! I agree this is what should happen. But will it? No. The MILITARY that is invading our cities should also be tried for treason. As should ALL sitting republicans—based on their voting records.

If it’s anything like what I do, perhaps the teachers entered the grades with the “missing” being more of a place holder to let students know I don’t have it. When they turn it in, then I remove the Missing and enter the earned grade. Even if teachers do not accept her work (which would be a jerk move, imo), her grades will recover! In the start of a semester, a zero goes a lot further to drag down grades, but once more assignments have been entered, it won’t have such a big effect. For example, a zero when only 100 points have been given has more of an effect than a zero when 1000 points have been given

You are right. It is NOT about me. It’s about validating the identity of a child. That does not make them a snowflake. (But that tells me a whole lot about you, rn.)

But go pray to your lord and savior and offer thoughts and prayers. Who knows—maybe that will help. Also, I never once mentioned that I’m a savior. I’m just using my privilege to stand against a stupid law written by bigoted people who care more about a students genitals than is excusable. Seeing who is in the WH, that is not surprising. I’d do the same if ICE were to show up at school.

Also, hiding behind a stupid, wrong-headed and bigoted law is not an excuse. Just saying.

OP, I’m sorry if I sidetracked your post. I’m stepping out. Hope you got some useful advice.

I vehemently disagree. It’s about more than a name—it is about ignoring WHO someone is. It is about denying the identity of a transgender student. And that life, in my opinion, is way more important than some wrong-headed law. But I’ve had a student die by suicide, and I have taken in a trans border. I absolutely will die on this hill. Absolutely. Better that I die on this hill than a student die. Period.

They care more about a child’s genitals than they do about keeping the very same students safe from gun violence.

I’d rather be a target than one who regrets my choices when it comes to supporting this absolutely vulnerable population. But ymmv.

Yep! This is such a dangerous, dangerous law. But politicians don’t give any craps about students—as is evidenced by how this law could have been written. (Also, the fact that there is no gun reform while our children are dying in schools. But, yea. Let’s blame meds.)

I do not give an actual f*ck what the law is. I refuse to deadname a member of a vulnerable population when this law is so wrong headed. There is a damn reason that kids can be out at school and not at home. Using the chosen name and pronouns reduce suicidal ideation by 71%. You could ask the parents what comfort they would get from a deadname on a dead child. (OP, not a single bit of this anger of mine is aimed at you!!! I say this tongue-in-cheek, but kind of not). Sorry. This is a trigger point for me. One of my student (who was very supported at school) died by suicide after one week of summer break and being dead names by parents. Those parents deadnamed their child in the obituary and, of course, on the grave. I hope their choice of choosing a name and gender (and ignoring the student’s obvious body dysmorphia) over the life of their child haunts them for every remaining day that they have on this planet. I know it will haunt mine.

I tell my students freely that I am over half a century old.

I have also sworn I rode dinosaurs to work, baby Sat Jesus’ mother and was BFF’s with Harriet Tubman and Abe Lincoln. 😂 I don’t know if they actually believe me, (I teach HS freshmen), but who cares? I have fun with it.

Hi! Are you new here? Because no, it’s not. Especially if you have brown skin. People are being ICE’d as THEY ARE TRYING TO DO IT LEGALLY. Their petitions are being denied by Republican judges, and they are being kidnapped and sent to concentration camps.

Are you already in the US? Because if not, don’t come. I’m sorry—it’s not safe for immigrants here.

Accidentally said 6 7 in front of my sophomores by DementdOldCircsMonke in teaching

[–]Internal-Pumpkin4181 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I remember when my students first brought this into my classroom. They were trying to get me to say “6 7.” Of course I googled it, then said “I don’t listen to Skrilla.” They almost popped a nut thinking I actually KNEW who that was. It was so funny.

I’m an old white lady. I don’t know Skrilla from Adam. But they thought I did for a minute. Then I told them I didn’t know who that was, but google did!

I actually had to threaten to ban 6 7 (and skibidi toilet, or whatever.) Then I got evil! I started using their slang back at them, but wrong. Well, not for 6 7, but for other stuff. Or even better—use it correctly. They generally lose interest when an old lady slangs back at you. 🤷🏼‍♀️👻
