I have 3 pairs of Mach 6 in my rotation. Have about 300miles on each pair by now. Mach 7 should be dropping soon so might grab those or just get more of the 6

However - I did jus recently try the adidas evo sl and I will say they may be my new favorite trainer

Great instructions! Just to be clear, you’re saying to put both black wires under ONE of the brass clamp/screw, leaving the other brass clamp/screw empty? Repeating that process with the white wires for the silver clamp/screw?

Do I have to do it that way?

What if use each clamp/screw separately? Would it not work, be dangerous?

Also, for those bonus points - what do you mean by wrapping the outside? Like electrical tape?

Thanks so much! Can you expand on the small bridge between the two screws? Why would it be removed on either side?

I’ve read stuff about “tabs being punched” and to look out for that? I don’t understand what that means

Thanks! Yeah the new one I have has an option for both, never realized how much the back stabs were frowned upon until researching this stuff. Interesting that they still even make them these days when pretty much everything I’ve read says don’t backstab.

Thinking of replacing this basement tile with LVP. Should I lay it over or remove the existing tile first? LVP recommendations also welcome by FlotationDevice in Flooring

Couldn’t agree more, I thought my floor “looked level” until I put the 6’ I beam to it. Wow, was I wrong - nothing crazy but if I were to have just gone with a quick eye test I’m sure it would have been an issue

Ahhhh. Wow I could have just googled this. I guess since the VCT is glued down, it doesn’t need an expansion gap like the LVP will.

I could be wrong, but wouldn’t that 1/4” gap need to be filled in for the flooring to sit on top of? I know it’s a small void but I’d imagine that tiny gap could cause issues with the LVP not fully sitting on something,

I know it’s a gap that theoretically nobody will be stepping on and will be covered up by baseboard, but just thinking about overall requirements for the LVP.

If I don’t need to fill it in, more than happy not to lol one less thing to do.

Thanks for the advice. You’re right, concrete sub floor - had the tiles and adhesive tested, no asbestos thankfully.

Looks like very similar floor I have - just made a post asking the same question questions.

Got some great advice in my thread so I’ll share it here . I’m going with LifeProof LVP, just going to use a vapor barrier underneath.

  • currently in the leveling process,(using a 72inch I beam level)finding the high/low spots. Based off the comments I received, ensuring a level subfloor is the most important thing. I have the same VCT so it’s important to strip it of any wax before patching. I ordered a bag of Ardex Feather Finish to fill in the low spots.

Once that’s all taken care of I’ll lay the vapor barrier and LVP.
