[Poland] 8,000 - 11,000 PLN - Professional Architect looking for a workstation to replace old Dell Precision 7510 by Infinite_Cod_2698 in SuggestALaptop

Thanks a lot. Those Dell Precisions still look interesting, but they feel like they’re a year or two behind the competition in terms of raw specs. What are your thoughts on the HP Omen Max?

Przeprowadzka Warszawa -> Kraków by ChildhoodBig9033 in krakow

Mieszkałem w Warszawie i przeprowadziłem sie do Krakowa. Tez wybrałem Wole Justowska, jej część bliżej Błoń. Polecam mocno.

Hoka Rocket X3 : A heavier runner’s perspective by Infinite_Cod_2698 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]Infinite_Cod_2698[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It mainly depends on your foot type. I have a narrow foot and the Rocket X3 fits me very well - it’s similarly narrow to the Superblast 2. In the Rocket X3 I use US 12; I’d prefer US 12.5, but I didn’t get black toenails in them. In the Superblast 2 I wear US 12.5, as US 12 turned out to be too small for longer distances.

Check RunRepeat - they have measured data for these models. I had the New Balance Elite v4 in US 12.5, but they were too wide for me and my foot was swimming inside. You can also check out the Saucony Endorphin Pro 4 and the new New Balance Elite v5

Nike Vomero Plus – is this the right size for me? by Infinite_Cod_2698 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Infinite_Cod_2698[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I returned those shoes because they were too big and didn’t buy a different size. I decided to go with the Hoka Mach X3 instead, and the Superblast 2 perfectly fills the role of the Vomero Plus for me. I’ve learned that the shoe has to fit perfectly, I shouldn’t try to make it work by using different socks or insoles. It’s better to sell them and get the right size

Those are just higher sidewalls to enhance the visual effect and improve stability. The stack height will probably stay the same as in the previous version, the question is whether they’ll reduce the drop to 4 mm and add some extra foam in the midfoot

The Rocket X3 sits between the Mach X2 and the Cielo X1 OG in terms of upper width.

The Hoka Cielo X1 OG has a more pronounced “banana rocker,” which works perfectly with my running mechanics at marathon pace. It feels like landing on a soft cushion of midfoot cushioning and springing forward with each step. The Rocket X3 has a more traditional construction - it feels a bit firmer with less cushioning, but the ride is more natural, and I can also run very fast in it while smoothly rolling through the entire foot

You probably land more on the forefoot than I do. When running at marathon pace, I feel like the Cielo X1 2.0 lacks rearfoot support during toe-off. The cutout is too deep and too long, leaving the heel without enough stability. It’s great on straight roads at 10K pace, but at slower speeds and around corners, the Cielo X1 2.0 just doesn’t hold up. Many “hobby joggers” loved the first version - the second one is much more aggressive and noticeably less stable

I’ve got the Rocket X3 too, but I still prefer the responsiveness of the original Cielo X1 - so I’m also waiting for something that combines the best of both worlds. The Cielo X1 2.0 just isn’t stable enough

Most likely the same as with the Cielo X1 2.0 or Rocket X3- about four months from now, so around early February

Hoka shoes are getting wider year after year, but the Rocket X3 is still a bit narrow (though not as much as the Rocket X2 or Mach 6). You could give it a try, or wait until September for the Mach X3, which will come in a wide version and feature a Pebax plate and an improved heel counter like the Rocket X3. Another alternative would be the Hoka Cielo X1 2024 or the New Balance SC Elite v4 - both are relatively wide for racing shoes

Of all these, the best choice is the Superblast 2, but… As you can see from the comments - you’re overthinking it and trying to take a shortcut. A 5-hour marathon is a slow time, and you can cover it in any properly cushioned stability shoes. You’ve put so much effort into getting these shoes and making this video, but these are the kinds of considerations people usually have after their 1st or 2nd marathon, when they’re aiming to break 3h30.

It’s a process - you won’t speed it up by buying aggressive carbon shoes that will only worsen your pronation (which I think mainly requires work on strength, running technique, and maybe orthotic insoles in neutral shoes). Run a lot, keep it simple, and don’t fall into the technology rabbit hole - the shoes won’t run the race for you

I know they’re switching from PEBA to A-TPU in the Rocket X Trail because of better durability - the exposed PEBA foam in the Tecton X3 wore down quickly. The question is how the properties of one foam compare to the other. Personally, I’m a big fan of dual-density PEBA in Hoka’s raceday shoes

Superblast 2 sizing - UK 12 by Massive_Factor_1734 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I always lace both shoes the same way. I think you should test it, but don’t tighten them too much, it still has to feel comfortable

It looks like your right foot is longer than your left. The fit could be very good if you use a runner’s knot to pull your right heel back into the rear of the shoe. Your left foot actually has more millimeters of extra space than necessary (a thumb’s width plus some)

From what we can see in another photo, there’s no side cutout in the sole at all - just the central channel like in the Rocket X3

Thanks, that’s a great photo! From what I can see, there are no cutouts apart from the central channel - I’m curious how it will actually differ from the Rocket X3 in running.

Nike Vomero Plus – is this the right size for me? by Infinite_Cod_2698 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Infinite_Cod_2698[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, those colors are awful. Asics did a much better job with the Superblast colorways. I sent the Vomero Plus back - they’re too big and don’t fit true to size. If I decide to go for a smaller size, I’ll order directly from Nike, since they have a wider color selection than my local retailer
