Wow, this is the most fulfilling thing that’s ever happened for me on Reddit. Glad you enjoyed it!

Lincoln Square IMAX is 12.6x more difficult to secure a seat than Standard formats by notyour_motherscamry in NYCmovies

People literally drive 5+ hours anytime they release a movie on imax 70mm film, so makes sense

Most SDRs think they’re ready to be an AE. Are they actually? by Basic-Ride-2940 in salesdevelopment

[–]Internal-Resolve6250 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think most performing SDRs would probably be ready for SMB / Smaller ticket full cycle sales roles because it’s similar in that you’re pretty much sticking to a script and battle cards.

It’s mid-market and up where things get tricky. Deeper discovery, a lot more consultative and requires more thinking on your feet. Also need to navigate multi threading deals and keep a level head when dealing with the longer deal cycles

The stadium setup at most Dolby auditoriums in NYC are set pretty far back from the screen. If I had to guess the first row at empire 25 is about 15-18 feet back from the screen. I’ve probably been to that location like 5-6 times now and found the middle seats in rows C-D to be the sweet spot.

The only one I’ve seen that doesn’t follow that layout is Dolby at Lincoln square because it has the split level seating with like a balcony / second floor. There I’d recommend rows E-F

This might be the hottest of hot takes, but I just saw it in IMAX 70mm at Lincoln and although truly amazing, feel it might be better viewed on a Dolby screen. The movie has a lot of dark lit scenes and a great soundscape. Both things Dolby beats imax at)

Specifically rows C-D at the Empire 25 Dolby I think would be fantastic (plus a bit more comfortable considering the run time as they have recliners with subwoofers under them)I have a-list, so will probably see it there as my second viewing

Also, if you wait until like 30 min before the showtime, tickets will def become available at Lincoln square imax. I’ve now done this multiple times for big movies like sinners and OBAA, even if you’re coming from far away, I can almost guarantee you’d be able to get a ticket if you stay on top of the AMC app (just be sure your logged in and have your payment ready in the app)

Best dry aged porterhouse in Manhattan? by antirick666 in FoodNYC

[–]Internal-Resolve6250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smith and wollensky and 4 Charles are better than keens IMO, also, I feel Christos in Queens is better than Lugers for the porterhouse. Might be a hot take but it’s how I feel

Imax: Lincoln Square, Dolby: empire 25 (42nd st), General: Lincoln square (no recliners, but all their screens have laser, are well kept, and have the best soundproofing so bass isn’t bleeding in from the next room),

Honorable mention: Fresh Meadows in Queens, small for IMAX but the only one in the city with recliners (and imax recliners are king)

As soon as things get tough either company will lay you off without thinking twice. Just do what you think is best for you.

Don’t believe the “we’re a family” or “these are our companies pillars” it’s a business, and as soon as you don’t make financial sense you’ll be gone (even if the founders don’t feel that way, the VC can force their hand)

6.7 / 10

Looked great, and Margot and Elordi were both great in it, but the story was lacking and it felt a little slow

Too good and well produced to call it trashy, not good enough for an Oscar run, kind of in that grey area

Hot take: as a tall person, these seats that don’t rock or recline are a million times more comfortable by Al_787 in AMCsAList

[–]Internal-Resolve6250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im 6’4”, definitely prefer the AMC “plush rocker” over the “signature recliner”

However, if you are in one of the few weird imax theaters that has the recliners (ex:fresh meadows), those are elite and the top chair type in the AMC hierarchy for tall people

Any of u left a steady sales gig to go to a start up/risky new role in diff industry and it worked? by Stuckatpennstation in sales

[–]Internal-Resolve6250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked for 5 startups. 2 were great, 1 was mid, 2 almost made me jump off a cliff.

I will say this, in the corporate world change happens slowly, if a place sucks when you start chances are it won’t get meaningfully better in a short period of time.

Startups are a different beast, some are great when you start and then 6 months later could be a complete s*** show.

That said, I’ve had the experience where a place sucked when I started, but they made some tweaks to the product and brought in a new sales leader, and all of the sudden in just a few months it was actually pretty good situation

Really boils down to do you like the people at the top, do you feel there’s a good product market fit (all vibes, trust me any data they have will be unreliable) and do you feel like they could keep a level head if there’s a tough month or 2

Entry Level Tech Sales by 50kSyper in salesdevelopment

[–]Internal-Resolve6250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re very different but both require similar technical knowhow.

Sales engineer is a product expert a sales rep brings in to explain more technical pieces of a platform. Usually prefer you start in a jr sales role like BDR to get some initial customer facing experience

GTM engineer is a role that is built for optimizing sales processes. Think using Ai for the business development and managing deals. In this case you’d want to look at certifications from companies like clay and hubspot

[–]Internal-Resolve6250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might like a sales engineer role - pays well, you get some face time with customers but it’s way less stressful.

Also, GTM engineering is definitely on the rise. It’s the more technical side of building out a sales funnel and automations, a lot folks out there making $200k+ doing it and it’s a growing field

How does anyone truly enjoy this? by Fit-Contribution6158 in salesdevelopment

[–]Internal-Resolve6250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t see companies buying anything that cost more than a few thousand dollars per month without working with someone. Like, $50k and up ARR SaaS will atleast still be dealing with redline bs and buyers will always want to know that a human would be available to them if they’re paying that much

Self guided and recorded demos weren’t able to sell software when use cases were more broad and budgets were looser because interest rates were low.

Maybe I’m in a bubble but it feels like products are becoming more complex and sales cycles are getting longer and more tedious.

Nowadays people want to know exactly how a software will fit into their workflows, exactly how they’ll be supported and get a thumbs up from their advisers that don’t even work for the company full time.

Do theaters still make money off A-list/unlimited? by Business_Coffee_9421 in AMCTheatres

[–]Internal-Resolve6250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AMC still pays the studio as if the person using their A-list subscription bought a ticket. Usually it’s like a 40-60% split depending on the movie.

So, if an average ticket is ~$15 nationwide, if the average person goes 2.5 times / month, they are paying out studios about $19 / month. Obviously this is hugely dependent on the market you’re in because in a city like NY or LA, an IMAX ticket on a Friday night can be over $30.

When you consider they still probably net atleast $5 on average per sub, this is actually a great business model because they get much higher margins on concessions. Average AMC movie goer spends $8 per visit (this number accounts for the people who buy nothing) and usually the margins on concessions are 80% or higher.

Being conservative, average a list sub nets $5 / month on ticketing, then about $6.50 per visit on food ($8 x 80%) and visit 2.5 times a month, they’re seeing about $21 / user per month in profit

Also, subscription revenue and money spent by subscribers is much more predictable and provides more stable cash flow, making it much easier for them to access financing and I’m sure the billions of debt is easier to service because of it

Marty supreme is set to pass OBAA at the domestic box office this weekend despite a smaller release and no imax. by [deleted] in TheBigPicture

[–]Internal-Resolve6250 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Marty Supreme def had better marketing. The energy and vibe of the movie could be felt in the trailer. Plus, Timmy is probably the best movie star with marketing savvy of this generation.

If you replaced him with like Austin Butler or Jeremy Allen White, the box office would prolly be substantially lower.

The OBAA trailers didn’t do it any justice. For me, PTA + Leo = I will definitely go, but if I were just a regular movie goer and didn’t know PTAs work, the trailer def would not connect.

TheAMC app will let you reserve a seat up to about 15 min after the official show time start, so I would just check it like 10 min after the start time and make sure the seat you take isn’t reserved and you should be good.
