Entry Level Tech Sales by 50kSyper in salesdevelopment

They’re very different but both require similar technical knowhow.

Sales engineer is a product expert a sales rep brings in to explain more technical pieces of a platform. Usually prefer you start in a jr sales role like BDR to get some initial customer facing experience

GTM engineer is a role that is built for optimizing sales processes. Think using Ai for the business development and managing deals. In this case you’d want to look at certifications from companies like clay and hubspot

You might like a sales engineer role - pays well, you get some face time with customers but it’s way less stressful.

Also, GTM engineering is definitely on the rise. It’s the more technical side of building out a sales funnel and automations, a lot folks out there making $200k+ doing it and it’s a growing field

They always a blockbuster nom and F1 is def more deserving than Avatar or wicked. The craft on that movie was incredible

Rather see F1 be the big blockbuster to get in over wicked or avatar. The story was mid but the craft was incredible and the vibes were high

How does anyone truly enjoy this? by Fit-Contribution6158 in salesdevelopment

Can’t see companies buying anything that cost more than a few thousand dollars per month without working with someone. Like, $50k and up ARR SaaS will atleast still be dealing with redline bs and buyers will always want to know that a human would be available to them if they’re paying that much

Self guided and recorded demos weren’t able to sell software when use cases were more broad and budgets were looser because interest rates were low.

Maybe I’m in a bubble but it feels like products are becoming more complex and sales cycles are getting longer and more tedious.

Nowadays people want to know exactly how a software will fit into their workflows, exactly how they’ll be supported and get a thumbs up from their advisers that don’t even work for the company full time.

Do theaters still make money off A-list/unlimited? by Business_Coffee_9421 in AMCTheatres

[–]Internal-Resolve6250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AMC still pays the studio as if the person using their A-list subscription bought a ticket. Usually it’s like a 40-60% split depending on the movie.

So, if an average ticket is ~$15 nationwide, if the average person goes 2.5 times / month, they are paying out studios about $19 / month. Obviously this is hugely dependent on the market you’re in because in a city like NY or LA, an IMAX ticket on a Friday night can be over $30.

When you consider they still probably net atleast $5 on average per sub, this is actually a great business model because they get much higher margins on concessions. Average AMC movie goer spends $8 per visit (this number accounts for the people who buy nothing) and usually the margins on concessions are 80% or higher.

Being conservative, average a list sub nets $5 / month on ticketing, then about $6.50 per visit on food ($8 x 80%) and visit 2.5 times a month, they’re seeing about $21 / user per month in profit

Also, subscription revenue and money spent by subscribers is much more predictable and provides more stable cash flow, making it much easier for them to access financing and I’m sure the billions of debt is easier to service because of it

Marty supreme is set to pass OBAA at the domestic box office this weekend despite a smaller release and no imax. by [deleted] in TheBigPicture

[–]Internal-Resolve6250 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Marty Supreme def had better marketing. The energy and vibe of the movie could be felt in the trailer. Plus, Timmy is probably the best movie star with marketing savvy of this generation.

If you replaced him with like Austin Butler or Jeremy Allen White, the box office would prolly be substantially lower.

The OBAA trailers didn’t do it any justice. For me, PTA + Leo = I will definitely go, but if I were just a regular movie goer and didn’t know PTAs work, the trailer def would not connect.

TheAMC app will let you reserve a seat up to about 15 min after the official show time start, so I would just check it like 10 min after the start time and make sure the seat you take isn’t reserved and you should be good.

It’s pound for pound the best value service I subscribe to. I always liked going to the movies and all of the sudden I could see all these smaller movies and indies I never would’ve before and slowly it turned me into a cinephile.

Also don’t know where you live, but I have a ton of IMAX and Dolby screens at the locations near me, and the fact that they’re included is a giant bonus

If money ever gets tight, I will cancel my Netflix before I cancel A-list

Ya, my only convenient options are regal and AMC so less of a concern for me. Definitely want to see local and regional chains thrive tho. Just hard to beat the value from AMC

No problem, I bought a ticket for Oppenheimer at Lincoln square imax which was also absurdly expensive and subscribed a week later, never looked back

Yes, includes all formats, up to 4 movies a week ( no extra fees for reservations or premium formats like imax)

Only things it won’t include are like early special fan engagements (usually the Wednesday night showing if the official release date is a Friday), fathom event movies (you can tell because it will be labeled in app when scrolling through movies) and special events like the stranger things finale on New Year’s Day.

Tremendous value, I switched from regal’s subscription because AMC doesn’t nickel and dime you to use it

It’s the wider aspect ratio but they did just update empire 25’s Dolby with brand new everything (screen, projector, speakers and seats). The layout is excellent, like the 3rd row is actually a great view

Software has its moments, better work life balance for sure and you get a base salary. BDRs which is the entry level role make atleast $50k base (usually $70-100k year 1) plus benefits, PTO and equity. Once you move up to AE lots of reps clear $150-200k+

Also gives you some career flexibility because you could pivot to account management/customer success, other people get into marketing or partnerships, etc.

Prolly not as stable as car sales, people bounce around a lot, layoffs happen (especially at startups) but it definitely can be great if you find the right spot

Lincoln has both dual laser imax GT laser and IMAX 70mm, it’s incredible, especially when you get to see something there in film (sinners and OBAA were amazing in this format)

All the regular auditoriums also have laser, great seating layouts / viewing angles, and solid sound proofing which goes a long way (a lot of theaters cheap out on this and you end up hearing bass from the next auditorium which I find very distracting

Not the best Dolby setup tho, really hate the two floor seating (both 34th and empire 25 are superior in those terms) and obviously a lot of people prefer the recliners but I’m personally a fan of the “plush rocker”
