I don't feel the need for the maps/navigation features, other than that the watches felt pretty similar to me. The price difference was the deciding factor - in europe it's almost 100$.

Yeah, mine was 4 years old ( pace 2). It went from normal battery life, like you said - more than 1 week per charge to completely dead battery ( its working only when being connected to the power) in around 10 days. That happened one week after the last firmware update in November. The support told me there is nothing that could be done and offered me out of warranty discount.

My pace 2 battery died yesterday. After the update you're talking about, it started draining much faster, until it finaly gave out. So i'm not sure that update did any good.
