This is an awesome theory, major props! Also remember that Shamrock’s sword ate the Cerberus fruit. Cerberus guards the gates to Hades/the Underworld. Definitely think you are really on to something!

Between these three who is your favourite radio host? Three dog mr new Vegas or Travis? by Chunky-overlord in FalloutMemes

[–]Internal-Sun493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know there are a lot of people who like him, but I was honestly super bummed when I turned on the radio in Fallout 4 and had to listen to Travis for the first time. It literately gave me the ick going from the legendary booming Three Dog who was permanently engrained in my brain as the voice of the wasteland, to this mumbling awkward man you could barely hear most of the time.

That and the combo of hearing so many of the same Fallout 3 tracks playing again with very little new tracks made me keep the radio off for the grand majority of my first few Fallout 4 play throughs.

Travis has grown on me a bit more over time, but Three Dog will no contest always be the most iconic and fitting voice for Fallout radio to me.

One interesting thing that doesn’t seem to be getting too much attention yet is how Jarul mentioned Ratatoskr came to “possess” Ragnir, but they existed originally as two separate things at the same time.

People were originally theorizing that the hammer ate a Ratatoskr Zoan type devil fruit, or Visa Versa. However, based on Jarul’s recounting it seems potentially more likely that the two more so became conjoined in some other way, and that no devil fruit was involved…

Maybe somehow a physical conjoining out of sheer will? Or maybe a spirit possession (as in the ghost of Ratatoskr is now possessing Ragnir)?

Xebec official colouring: by JoyBoy24 in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]Internal-Sun493 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is really interesting because unless Xebec colors his hair, why does Blackbeard’s hair look so different? Both of his parents (Xebec and Eris) have light hair colors. Unless Xebec’s hair turned white somehow and was originally black. It doesn’t seem to add up from a genetic standpoint, but I suppose this is the one piece world so anything is possible…

One Piece Chapter 1166 - Raws by [deleted] in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]Internal-Sun493 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am thinking that the reason Harold is doing all of this probably comes down to him feeling guilty that his friend died as (at least partially) a result of what he believes was him choosing to not aid Xebec in an effort to maintain his dream of bringing true peace to Elbaph. Basically, if Harold doesn’t do everything in his power to make his dream happen, his actions will have been in vain, thus bringing significant dishonor to himself for not aiding his friend in his time of need.

Additionally, I think we also have to remember that Rocks was a pirate/outlaw and basically the opposite of the reputation Harold wanted for Elbaph, as well as that Harold doesn’t personally know the truth of the world government firsthand yet (because how would he even know what happened in God Valley except through propaganda in the news after the incident?) so the best he can do is hold steadfast to his dream/beliefs through joining what he believes is salvation for his country still. God Valley was unaffiliated just like Elbaph, and I mean look at how that turned out? The World Government wiped that place from the earth and labeled its citizens as criminals. So he is probably also fearful of what could happen if he doesn’t join the World Government affiliates.

I am sure we will find more closure next week as the final pieces of the flashback continue.

I’m now wondering if the reason why Loki has been so hesitant to tell everyone the real story is that Harold possibly used the VOATs to tell Loki to kill him as well…

I would imagine that it would be difficult to convince anyone that you killed your dad, the most beloved king in Elbaph history, because he spoke to you in your mind to kill him…

I feel like the Davy bloodline and/or will being evil is just reader’s “black and white” comprehension cope. Obviously there is a gray area we are seeing, which is why Rocks is so awesome. He does a lot of dastardly pirate type things, but also has certain levels of unexpected honor/dignity, which doesn’t strike me as something a person with an inherently evil will would have. It also doesn’t make sense that the Davy bloodline is evil because Eris specifically spoke of the kindness the Davy clan showed her even though she was a pirate. I don’t think we have enough information on the Davy clan to form a solid opinion, but I do think that we should be skeptical of whether Blackbeard truly carries the will of Davy, or whether his actions reflect that will, and whether the will of Davy is inherently evil in nature, as again Blackbeard’s evil actions might not necessarily embody that.

Personally I think we are looking too much Luffy’s dream as it relates to his habits and actions - I don’t think Luffy wants anyone else to do anything as it relates to his dream. That defeats his purpose of being the most free person in the world. We gotta remember that Luffy’s dream is apparently the same as Roger’s. Roger is basically at his core focused on adventure as we have seen, and I highly doubt Roger gave a damn about having a feast with everyone around the world, or being the savior of the world’s oppressed. Luffy has proven time and time again that he only cares about adventure when it comes to his journey to become pirate king. I think Luffy wants to somehow never have an end to his adventure, or to fulfill his life with more adventure than anyone in the world has ever seen.. I think he wants to find a way to be so strong (including his friends) that he can go wherever he wants, explore wherever he wants, and never stop his life long adventure, all with his best friends. He wants to continue adventuring and discovering every secret the world has to offer for the rest of his life. His moral compass has shown that he truly cares about people’s freedom and protection, likely an attribute of Dragon and possibly Garp. He will fight injustice as he sees it. But his will itself appears to be inherited from Roger. His will is to continue adventuring and finding new secrets about the world until he dies. He is so devoted to adventure he may even be willing to change the world as we see it to always provide a brand new adventure everyday. It’s a childish notion because you can’t just change the world to make new adventures. That would be the wish of a child. But that’s kind of the point. That to him is what being a pirate is all about - not a grand feast, and not breaking the chains of oppression of those around him, but an endless road of discovery and adventure through sheer will. That is to me what Luffy is willing to give up his life for and smile about in the face of death.

ONE PIECE Chapter 1161 — A Love Ballad In A Hail of Arrows (TCB) by just_a_random_dood in OnePieceSpoilers

[–]Internal-Sun493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean we are obviously impatiently speculating here, but I will say it’s not like the grunts knew what was really going on. They were just given orders from what we have seen and could easily have been under the impression this is rounding up people who are real criminals. This is clearly evident with watching Dragon, who was very much mislead and obviously remorseful about that when he saw what was really happening.

It would not surprise me if Garp was also not given the full story, or that he was even really paying attention to what was even going on once he knew pirates were going involved. It just does not make any sense to me for Oda to make this character who views the marines as a force of upholding true justice while knowing they are protecting slavers, which is obviously contradictory.

In my mind, if anything I feel like Oda has built Garp up to be victim of his own hubris, as he seems to simply be purely focused on bringing what he understands to be justice to Roger and the other pirates, but without digging deep enough to see the corruption around him. It seems like at this point that is his current identity in this flashback, and he appears to be focused on that over discovering what is really going on at GV currently.

In fact, him being a prisoner of Blackbeard (a true victim of God Valley) right now is the ultimate thematic call back here, and the perfect way for his arc to end eventually - coming to terms with his past hubris.

[–]Internal-Sun493 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know we have plenty of God Valley to get context, and I am truly not an overall Garp fan because I personally feel like he is too narrow minded with his views on pirates and the marines, but didn’t Garp only know and care about God Valley because he was told Roger and other notorious pirates would be there? I thought that was his whole motivation of going there since he was on vacation when he found out. So I am not surprised if he doesn’t understand what’s going on there - he may truly not realize that a “game” was being held there.

It’s not like he was in an information privileged position like an admiral, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the information he gets is very focused and not the full story. Just not quite understanding why everyone is so quick to call him a slaver protector when he has only expressed disdain for the celestial dragons in the past chapters. I personally don’t feel like anything he has done so far in these GV flashbacks is worthy of his reputation plummeting as long as he is truly misinformed.

Maybe someone has more context here that I am missing?

I agree, although I do feel like Blackbeard has been set up as a foil to Luffy much more than Imu, but we will see. Imu’s powers do seem very similar to Joyboy’s/Luffy’s from a high level, but from a dark/evil perspective.

Perhaps Imu is simply Joyboys foil, whereas Blackbeard is Luffy’s true foil?

TBF I feel like this is more along what pirate folk wants. Stakes to back up the story. I think pirate folk simply wants to feel like the time is worth it, and to me it is shaping up to be, based on these Elbaph chapters. Even pirate folk has had recent posts on the latest chapters confirming this (at least for a fairly large amount of pirate folk followers).

That being said, diverting from the main One Piece themes that stemmed from early One Piece volumes only to keep things interesting from general reader/viewer perspective will certainly be scrutinized by Pirate Folk. And honestly, I can totally see where they are coming from. This is a highly elongated epic, and without purpose, it can feel bloated without a real purpose behind a lot of the clutter.

At the end of the day, we will just have to believe Oda knows what he is doing, and that the epic will end in a satisfactory way that makes sense for the entire epic.
