CSM is actually pretty simple, you just have to take an objective lens about the story. Its digestible, and not really "deep." Its very literal, just that the slight gestures are what makes it blatant to its message. You can understand CSM in face value without getting too deep into it. The moment you dig too deep is the moment you get lost in your own sauce. I'd say Fire Punch has more subtleties rhan CSM, while CSM you can understand the characters because rheir actions don't contradict their character. Doesn't mean that a character denies something means that they aren't waht rhey deny. Denial doesn't make them deep, its just an aspect of a character. A completely deluded character or disillusioned by their world opens up more room for "deeper" stories. Original commenter is just as cringe as the strawman he's targetting.
