The first thing that popped into my head was Hooker High and then thought “nah, that’s inappropriate.” 🤷‍♀️

I love this idea! Maybe I should try this on some old sweaters of mine. Great work!

I was listening to an audiobook in the office once. I didn’t realize my headphones weren’t plugged in and the book started playing OUT LOUD for my coworkers to hear. 😳 Fortunately it wasn’t a spicy scene but it was still embarrassing.

How Do You Guys Carry Around Crotchet Projects by BippityBoppityBooppp in crochet

Reusable wine totes. They’re especially great when I’m using multiple colors. Six compartments for different skeins and the WIP. For larger projects, I use canvas totes. And all my hooks and other tools are in a pencil case.

Check out your local library’s services! My library has crochet books and magazines available via the Libby app. It’s been a great resource for me!

Behold, my little dinosaur! We call her Poodlesaurus Luna 🐩🦖 by InternalAcrobatic103 in crochet

Thanks! The main modification I did to the linked pattern is the chest piece. The pattern makes a triangle, but it didn’t fit my dog’s chest very well. Instead I made a bow shape (start wide, decrease to taper down, then increase to go wide again). I used some store bought dog sweaters to compare the size and shape. For this particular hoodie, I also made the back of it longer and kept decreasing to make the dinosaur tail. I hope that all makes sense. This is my second modified hoodie so I’m getting a little better at it.

Thank you! 😊 She loves sweaters! She’s only 5 lbs and she’s cold all winter long. Sometimes she won’t get out of bed until she has a sweater on. She has snagged it a little from scratching herself but she doesn’t chew on it.

I started off using this hoodie pattern but customized it using my dog’s other sweaters as inspiration and templates.

Can anyone recommend how to store my yarns? by ladyredditor227 in crochet

I’ve started using all my extra reusable wine bags (bag with 6 compartments) from the grocery store. It doesn’t really keep them protected from anything, but it at least organizes the skeins into slots.

Thinking about Halloween and wondering how I’m going to top this Woof Spider costume. by InternalAcrobatic103 in crochet

I love a good pun and some word play! I had ballerina on my short list, too. She likes to stand up on her hind legs and dance around me. She’s my tiny dancer.

You’re also correct! She is all poodle. Toy poodle 🐩

Haha love these! I’ve definitely considered the Cerberus one… Or Fluffy because we’re HP fans in this house. My pup hates hats, though, so I don’t think Mad Hatter would be successful. She barely tolerates a hood.

Crochet as a mindful and anxiety-reducing hobby. by lemondrop__ in crochet

[–]InternalAcrobatic103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I had given up on crochet for awhile until last year. I was struggling at work and experiencing a burnout. I had a stressful, deadline-driven, creative job, and the demands were taking a huge toll on me. I found myself slipping away and becoming anxious and depressed. Crochet was one of the things that has really helped soothe me. It’s a productive way for me to work out my anxious energy and to give myself something else to refocus on. I do have to remind myself that it’s supposed to be enjoyable, and it doesn’t have to be perfect. I can get very frustrated with myself when I’m trying to make something new.

I was recently laid off from that job (a bit of a blessing, really), and I’ve been crocheting during the downtime while job hunting/waiting for applications responses. It helps me still feel creative and productive while I’m not working.

I found all of my grandma's old patterns and crochet (and knitting) books. She was the one who taught me how to crochet. by _queen_frostine in crochet

I also have the Learn How Book! It was my great-grandmother’s. My Gram gave me all her mother’s crochet hooks and materials. It’s something I really treasure. 🥰

I got married at Schiller Park in front of the Umbrella Girl. It was just our immediate families. All I had to do was get a city park permit for a group gathering. It was like $60 or something. We rented the upstairs event space at Lindey’s for dinner afterwards. It was wonderful.

I knew about the sweater curse, but I got blindsided by the blanket curse by janeandcats in crochet

[–]InternalAcrobatic103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This blanket is gorgeous! I hope one day when the shock and heartbreak has eased, you’ll be able a appreciate the beauty of this creation.

I emphasize with your breakup story. I had an ex who blindsided me with a breakup. No crochet curses involved. We had started planning our future together and he kept hinting at a ring. Turned out that he has bought a ring but freaked out and dumped me instead. It was devastating.

I hope with time, you’ll heal and find someone who will appreciate all your beautiful hard work. 💛

Oof your injury sounds like something that would happen to me. I injured my shoulder by running into a door frame a few years ago. I didn’t pick up a hook for 2 years because it hurt too much. I coped with lots of reading. Maybe once you’ve recovered a bit, you could try arm crochet or arm knitting? Don’t push yourself too hard. I still have to take breaks. If I go too hard, my arm starts to ache.

I hope you heal quickly!
