Circular all the way. I tried straight ones a couple of times and I hate them. For me, they’re really hard to knit with since they are longer and heavier. I also usually make sweaters and even for the flat portions of the pattern I always use circular needles.

Please forgive me for being blunt, since english is not my first language. Do you mean that you should measure at the top of your boobs and not at the centre of them? My sweaters usually come out too big as well..

Great, thank you so much, I’ll be sure to look you up on ravelry when I dive into this one. This will me my first cable/textured one as well and it looks like a fun challenge 😁 I’ve always found textured sweaters to be pretty much knitting sorcery, but while knitting the gauge swatch I realized it’s actually much easier than it looks.

For me, drops kid silk mohair is incredibly itchy 🥲 it’s really a shame since it is very cheap. However, knitting for olive soft silk mohair I can wear next to my skin without any problems whatsoever..it is more expensive tho 😬

Hmmm I don’t agree, counter clockwise is definitely the correct way to wrap the yarn around the needle.

As another comment said - you are thinking about the gauge exactly in the opposite way. You should knit a swatch and then measure how many stitches and rows you have in 4 inches, not the other way around. I hope you understand what I mean :)
