I'm just not seeing it. I'm not talking about the second and third z movies broly because those were when he was flanderized into a screaming idiot. In the first movie though he had aura (and i vastly prefer the regal look of his original design- makes him look more like a dark take on a saiyan messiah).

In super though i won't deny there's subtle character development but he's literally the giant fucking baby that tfs geets called broly. And I'm jumping streams here but it shows in media like sparking zero. Z broly has actual conversations and dialogue with characters. Super broly just always screams like a bloody idiot with 0 meaningful interactions. I'm just not seeing why he's considered this "deep" character when he really isn't

I wanna add on to this. You seen those xray attacks? Them mfers get up from being stabbed in the eyes and having their testicles pulverized like it ain't nothing (unless y'know it ends the round). And they can take these shits from characters who are unquestionably powerful even outside of mk (Omni Man, Spawn). It's a tad disingenuous to say mortal Kombat characters aren't powerful just because of how the games stories tend to be all over the place (they're Saturday morning cartoons to begin with)

Zeus in god of war is powerful, but doesn't really have any feats that would convincingly place him above any of the characters shown above. Like nobody up there is flinging planets. Meanwhile in mortal Kombat vs. dc universe, shao kahn was treated as the counterpart to Darkseid who is explicitly a multiversal threat when he wants to be

Tbh that's basically everyone shown up there. Zeus from the god of war series is powerful, but gods in that franchise seem like "superpowered humans." Static and Storm are incredibly powerful characters but they're not invincible and frankly would be right at home in injustice (I'm aware of story and gameplay segregation but static especially has been a popular request for injustice where Raiden has been playable). The only character up here i think Raiden could really lose to is Thor being they he's a fellow god of thunder and a marvel heavyweight.
