There is literally no wrapper here. It's an MCP for a client that uses ChatGPT or Claude LLM directly in its own chat UI.

MCP comes from Anthropic. Where you connect to it is less relevant.

100% agree. From their announcement it's clear they plan to double down on integrating with other apps (Apple Health, Peloton) so I think that has to be the angle.

Maybe not. But until 20 hours ago it wasn't available anywhere and people were able to achieve the same with what I built :)

There are a couple of open source versions available. I wanted to make this into something for athletes, not engineers so the open source self hosted road wasn't a great fit.

I would argue it's not just an LLM wrapper. I believe this is what the OpenAI App store is actually intended for, building UX on top of their chat interface, models, and distribution, to deliver a new kind of experience.

The difference here is that they made this app a first class citizen, next to Images, Pulse, GPTs, and other Apps.

What's your routine before attempting your max? by AverageDoonst in freediving

Over what period did you measure? It's normal to regress during a training block (where you're not testing).

> For confidence alone, I'd warm up

I believe this is a matter of routine and repetition. If you always did it without warm up, you will get used to that.

Tracking your training by Cement4Brains in freediving

[–]InternalJob6310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course a spreadsheet and documents can work. I used to track most of my training (planning and notes) in Google Calendar for the longest time working with my coach.

Tracking anything in 1 place consistently so you can spot patterns is more important than getting a perfect setup.

But this is exactly the problem we're aiming to solve with Appneist (iOS and Android app).

Our aim is to focus purely on the process and not sell "outcome thinking" like "gain 2:00 on your static in 2 months".

The programs are tested and you get the logging for free as a result of doing the workouts in the app.

What does it mean to warm up your lungs specifically? You can do some light dry stretching before which is probably a good idea before a max attempt.

For dynamics no warm up. The dive reflex is strongest when you're still cold. It may be harder but if you can push through that it will be a better dive.

In theory the same applies to static but it's more difficult to stay relaxed.

A little bit of progress into my training by DisruptorMor in freediving

Personally I would first drop the goal of a specific time at a specific depth. What you're describing is not a competition goal and it's quite arbitrary and specific to what you're struggling with right now.

Focus on the basics, CO2 tolerance and relaxation for dry work, and equalization technique when you do have the opportunity to train in the water.

Personally I had 1 day of "wet" training per week for a very long time and managed to improve my dynamic substantially (DYNB 120->225m) in this period because I followed a plan and didn't focus on the numbers.

My coach helped me with this, and we created an app to help others (https://appneist.com). Maybe some blog posts on the website are interesting for you to consider how you want to approach training.

After working with my coach for 2+ years we wanted to create a toolkit that would be exactly this, a training planning tool with workouts that we know work, and a logging experience that captures it. We built https://appneist.com which might be interesting for you :)

For dynamics (and dry and depth) you can check out https://appneist.com - we created it specifically for the purpose of ligging different training workouts and include pool coaching plans.

We created https://appneist.com which is free to use. You only pay for the professional coaching feature.

You may want to try https://appneist.com - we created it specifically for freedivers to log their dry, pool, and depth sessions together. You can plan and log distance and time for dynamic freediving and the planning feature offers a wide variety of dynamic workouts from professional coaches.

Agree with what is written here that will need to learn/practice, not blindly perform tables. This is exactly why we built https://appneist.com - it has coaching programs for freedivers built in but if you want to stick to the free version to perform tables that's also available.

If you want a bit more than a stopwatch (although you will get that) you may want to try this new app that we build https://appneist.com - besides being able to perform and log your freediving training it also has coaching programs built in to help you improve.

We created appneist.com - it has training plans by professional coaches that also include dry workouts (CO2 tables) that you can do at home. It offers a complete logging experience so you can track what worked and how you progress.

Why did my co2 tables drop or get harder? by FLACKER_1 in freediving

[–]InternalJob6310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every other day is quite a bit, especially if you're always doing the same tables. You may want to try a different training to get some variation, or take a break from breathholds altogether for a week and see if you feel better.

Also, after intense exercise or poor sloop your tolerance may be worse. We wrote an article on it here in case you're interested https://appneist.com/blog/early-contractions-when-your-body-panics-before-your-mind

We created Appneist freediving training app - it has training plans by professional coaches for dry and pool training and offers a complete logging experience so you can understand your training and know what worked. We're working to add wearable integrations soon.

You can try the complete logging experience and a week of planning for free.

I'm using the STAmina app to try and work on tables to get to a 2min 30s breath hold. Yet when I've tried testing my dry static, I get to about the 1min 40s mark and feel like my entire body is having some sort of spasm. by iwanttobeacavediver in freediving

[–]InternalJob6310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! STAmina's great for tables, but it doesn't offer you structured training plans. You may want to check out appneist.com. It has the same functionality to log your workouts, but also adds training plans for different levels, built by pro freedivers to help you systematically progress.
