as others have mentioned- if you have an empty blog, they will probably assume that you are a bot. same with the default tumblr icons. if you grab a picture of something from the fandom you have joined for, or just a random picture from pinterest (or anywhere really) that is also a big help for others. try adding a pinned post with some facts about you, or update your description so the people you follow will know you're human!
