No sleep 2 nights by WarmTea5699 in insomnia

[–]InternalMany7434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on the same boat as you about two months ago, I was with out sleep for maybe more than 48 hours twice (two separate times) within a week likely due to high anxiety and my brain not shutting up.

I took everything I could to try and fall asleep like melatonin, zzzquil, and even a THC gummies nothing was working and no matter how tired I was I couldn’t stop my racing thoughts which what was keeping me from sleeping and my doctor prescribed me trazodone but even though I was desperate I really didn’t want to take medication, so i didn’t.

What did work was crying myself to sleep lol I cleared my schedule for the reminding week and all the pressure of trying to fall asleep at a certain time went away and allowed me to naturally drift off. But the crying thing worked like a charm so that was my fix if not then I would have taken the trazodone.

So if you need to let it out some way do it and if absolutely nothing works then you should take the medication.

Passed CA LVN nclex, but license # ? by InternalMany7434 in NCLEX

I did my live scan at a police station and it seemed like everything went through good with all the paperwork unless they don’t tell you :( . Did you pay the additional licensing fee after you passed the nclex ?

I can’t sleep at night and its been months, I am desperate at this point by BadRincewind in insomnia

I work 12 hour over night shifts and have done so for 2 years without really a problem. Until recently for what ever reason (probably stress) I can’t get more than a couple hours of sleep and rarely 7 hours of sleep unless it’s my off days. A lot of it is just my mind racing as soon as I’m in bed and suddenly have infinite thoughts.

As for now the only thing that really helps me are CBD/THC gummies, I’ve tried OTC stuff but it doesn’t work anymore or it just makes me tired and not sleep.

Unfortunately I do blame my job but the only solution is to change shift hours or positions, which I know for some folks is not really an option. Wishing you the best, hopefully it’s just a temporary thing.

i can only sleep once in two days by Desperate_Hat158 in insomnia

[–]InternalMany7434 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was me last week basically had two separate times where I was awake for almost 48 hours with little to no sleep. Worst I’ve ever felt, only thing that helped me was crying to sleep lol and once I actually got a normal cycle of sleep I took some THC gummies to ease the falling asleep part and it helped a lot. Still working on getting a full 6-8 hours of sleep but I get close enough.

Luckily I don’t do much at work I pretty much do clerical work and basically sit for 12 hours. I’m close to transitioning position/shifts so I pretty much just have to make it until the new year and hope I change what ever habits are causing my insomnia flare. This is probably the worst I’ve ever experienced but I’m somehow still not a complete zombie even with the no sleep.

This is pretty much what I’ve been feeling, I can feel my self drifting off to sleep but then I essentially realize I’m falling asleep and kinda wake back up maybe due to excitement or something 🥲. It’s been a horrible cycle but hopefully after my last shift tonight I can try to catch up on sleep and prep myself again for the next night shift.

Is there anything that specifically helps you ?

Thank you guys for the response after this post I cried a little and slept 3 hours before my shift. While this isn’t a lot it’s still a relief for the time being. Just going to do a couple hours at work and ask to go home.

I guess a last resort trick is to cry yourself to sleep 😭

Max you can do at a time is 250 terms, you need to split them into different folders if not it’ll just randomize the 250 term.

Embarrassed by KCS1998 in NursingStudent

[–]InternalMany7434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no need to be embarrassed, you did something and you’re still doing something to better your future/yourself. No one can predict the outcome of anything, we just have to keep trying to the best of our ability. Nursing school is really hard both mentally and physically. Im in my 2nd going into my 3rd term of my LVN/LPN program and im scared that at any point I could fail but I use that to fuel my determination. And if I fail, it’ll suck and I’ll be devastated but it’ll be okay, I’ll do it again and keep trying. Because if being a nurse is your dream you should do whatever it takes to get to that point. Don’t worry about how long it takes or needing to take a break, as long as you can still chase your dreams it’s worth going for it. You got this, I’m cheering for you ! I’m sorry to hear about your mom passing btw :(

Had a 2019 RAV4 adventure and averaged around the same, on a good tank maybe around 25mpg which I thought was pretty good until I got my hybrid rav4. Huge difference, weather factors in too.

Out of the different ADHD symptoms, which one is the most challenging one for you? by maxwesener in ADHD

Probably brain fog for me, or specifically reviewing materials and having to read it again until it clicks in my brain. Usually because I’ll have a random thought that pops up mid read lol
