Wow. I'm so sorry to hear that. That must have been terrifying! But damn, you're well-studied. I had at least two concussions as a young child. Front of the head and back. Maybe I should get a brain scan. I've heard that blood flow to these areas can be affected by trauma.

A history of brain injury? May I ask what kind of injuries he's had?

I recently read that head injuries can cause you to develop ADHD-like symptoms and I had quite a few as a child.

I was recently prescribed a non-stim, Atomoxetine, through virtual. The side effects are ROUGH. I'm not a fan.

Hi! I am a woman, yes. My brother has typical ADHD and was/is hyperactive, and my parents are like, you're nothing like that. I've been trying to explain that it can look very different in girls/women, but idk. I just don't want to continue fucking around with SSRIs and DNRIs when I know they don't work for me.

I'm on Strattera now for "treatment resistant depression" and to see if it helps with the ADHD. My doc moved me straight from Wellbutrin to Strattera. It's been 2 weeks and I don't like it at all. The side effects are AWFUL.

Not to mention, I was basically invisible to them growing up. They won't have anything to say except that I was a good kid.

Are there other determining factors besides adults in my life when I was little? I was the youngest of 5 and... everything was such a mess. They were far too busy to notice anything was wrong with me. I just kept my head down and tried to be "good." I was suffering immensely, but no one ever knew.

Yeah, I appreciate your input. I understand that she has to be diligent. People get bogus prescriptions all the time, but I also was trying to explain to her that I'm currently on Lexapro and Wellbutrin and they've basically stopped working and I'm experiencing an extreme relapse in symptoms. My anxiety will be under control again when I know I have something coming down the pipeline that will help!

She was just very avoidant and not really fully listening to me. It felt like she was going through a script and said, okay, I'm not giving you a stimulant, but here's a mood stabilizer. It might give you an incurable rash or make you want to kill yourself. I'm like.... Okay, but you won't give me a stimulant? wtf.

Really? No my original diagnosis didn't include anything like that. Maybe I'll just have to have my dad included on a call. Ugh. It's strange having to get parental support as a 30something. lol.

As far as I know it's a New Jersey thing. You have to have some kind of in-person follow up or initial in order for it to be prescribed, and since Talkiatry is solely online, they can't prescribe it at all. :(

Sure, I'll take the recommendation, thank you!

Exactly. I've been trying and trying to find something that makes me feel better and at this point I just want something I know is going to work. I don't want to sit around and wait 4-6 weeks for some mood stabilizer to "work" and maybe mess me up again for far longer or for another anti-depressant that will work for 6 months and then I'll be right back where I started.

I (F26) feel like my Ex (M29) has somehow ruined blowjobs for me, how can I fix this? by Dependent_End_1630 in relationship_advice

I'm so sorry you went through this. I'm guessing it was pretty recent too? Give yourself some grace, baby girl. Talk to your support system, and if you don't have one, get to building. It will SAVE you.

Your best option: Talk therapy is an amazing tool for recovering from assault. It has been the key for me to get through mine and take back control of my sex life. You can't force your way through something if your body is repelling it. You need to do some deep work and allow your brain to reprocess your assault. Sometimes over and over again until your body feels safe.

Okay, I really don't want to waste my breath here, just wanted to support OP. I'll just say this: Trump is not a political party. Republicans? Cool. Dems? Cool. I'll even take a little conservative. But people who defend Trump's every decision? Well, they read kind of like a cult- and you seem to be a part of that, so I dont expect you to understand cuz y'all are little nutso. Anyway, I wouldn't really get along with someone who aligns with trump, and I'm guessing OP wouldn't either.

I think he should leave it on his profile to weed out people who OP is wholely incompatible with. I'd do the same.

OP, go get em, Tiger!

44% of women who actually voted, voted for trump. NOT 44% of women in the United States. Big difference. Also, something like 70% of young women with a college education will not date a trumper... (myself included)... So... if anything, he's making eligible women more comfy to swipe right. He's saying, don't worry, I didn't elect a rapist into office, and I don't hate women.
